I had never been to the finger lakes and this experience could not have been any better! I brought my two dogs who loved the fenced in area out back where they had tons of space to just run around and play while I read and took in the beautiful view of the lake and greenery. The house itself was a great space and wonderful set up. It was super central to wineries and breweries and right down the street from Stonecat Cafe, adorable little place to eat! Highly recommend and I'll definitely be returning!
This property is exactly like the pictures- The property is absolutely beautiful. The house had everything we could have asked for. We stayed in late August and it was very hot for the region. Each bedroom was equipped with a window A/C which made for a cool and comfortable sleeping environment. There were a number of great wineries and breweries less than a mile away. We got a guided tour (shout out to Wine Wagen Tours!) for one day. The road that the house is off of is very busy and not walkable so driving is a must even though some restaurants/ wineries are very close. We had an awesome stay and definitely would like to return in the future.
Ideal location for visiting lakes, hiking (located across the road from National Park Station), wineries/breweries, and watching the sunset.
Perfect location to enjoy all the finger lakes and ithaca highlights. After a day of hiking, beer tasting, and Ithaca town stroll, it was nice to have a quaint, comfortable house to come back to and take in an evening sunset over the lake. Our dog Dexter loved having the gated yard to play and enjoy an evening fire with us. Although some breweries did not permit our dog, most were accommodating. Don't miss Two Goats (walkable- less then a mile) and Lucky Hare Brewing. Samira was available via phone for any issue/question. We'd definitely come back and stay again.
This was my 3rd time staying at this home with my dog. (I'm not certain which of us enjoys it more?!?) . This home is always clean! ALWAYS!! The kitchen is well-stocked with dishes, bowls, utensils, pots, pans, glasses, cups- everything you could need if you wanted to cook a meal. There are plenty of towels & linens available for guests to use. (the towels are in very good condition- they are fluffy & smell fresh, and they aren't thread bare and rough on your skin!!) The pictures and overview description of the home and property are very accurate- reasonable rates too. The house has been updated and renovated nicely, while still maintaining character of the home's original woodwork & floors. Guests will relax & enjoy their stay in this lovely home. You won't be disappointed.
We stayed Memorial Day wknd and it happened to be the hottest & most humid days of the year since last Oct! Ceiling fans on the main floor were helpful in keeping the house cool as the window AC units were not yet in. We kept most of the windows open and the morning breeze off the lake was refreshing & felt good. If guests wish to travel with their dog, this is the place to stay! A nice, large fenced in area in the backyard, adjacent to the big red barn, has a stone pit and picnic table. The house is near the National Park on Rte 414, and Sampson State park is about 20 minute drive North in Romulus on Rte 96A for a good hike or trail walk. We also like to drive into Watkins Glen and walk with our dog through the quaint little town to check out the shops. Several new places have opened over the past couple of years, so it's nice to take a peek at those along our walk ~ there's a new Ben & Jerry's ice cream shop and El Rancho Mexican café.
This house is on the eastern shore of Seneca centrally & conveniently located on the wine trail- about 10-12 wineries within 10 miles. Alot of new breweries have also popped up around Seneca- Grist Iron Brewing is one, within a mile of the house. They have live entertainment Fri & Sat nights and their food is decent. The house also makes for a convenient drive to Cayuga's western shore- about 25-40 minutes, depending on which wineries or parks you'd like to visit. Our favorites on Cayuga are Varick and Buttonwood Grove. Both have refreshing wine slushies perfect for sipping on their decks overlooking the lake!
Thank you to the owners for opening up & sharing their lovely home for others to enjoy! We will be back for a 4th visit! :)
