Sabal palms grow naturally on the island thanks to the subtropical environs. Moreover, because of the island’s geography with eastern, western and southern beaches, it is possible to see the sun rise and set over the water from Bald Head Island.

Tucked away in the maritime forest, just a few minutes golf cart ride from the beach, the ferry and the Old Baldy lighthouse, are the Royal James condominiums.

Take an evening stroll on the beach and look for giant loggerhead sea turtles laying their eggs or the baby turtles hatching and crawling into the sea. The Nature Center offers guided nighttime turtle walks and other nature programs.
