We have stayed at Metropolitan Tower 3 times before, visiting family in Seattle. It's a high-rise rental apartment building in downtown Seattle, an excellent spot within walking distance of restaurants, shopping and other amenities. The apartment is spacious (we have rented a 2-bedroom unit), and well cared for. The kitchen is equipped with just enough dishes, glassware, pots and pans, etc. to make you feel the unit is a home. Beds are very comfortable. Two minor drawbacks: first, the building's windows face the King County Courthouse, the lights from the windows there are on all night. The windows in the apartment units are fitted with blinds. If you like to sleep in complete darkness, bring eyeshades, because the lights from the courthouse shine in through the slats of the blinds! Secondly, until this rental period, a parking pass to the garage in the building has been included with a fee. This time, the policy was changed and no pass was issued because many renters apparently have not returned these passes when they have checked out of the building. We were not informed of this change by the rental agents beforehand. We had to pay the daily rate for parking, which amounted to a significantly greater amount of money than if we had had the pass. I must add, the rental agents, when contacted by us, were understanding of the situation and did work with us to reduce the charges, because we were unaware of the change in policy.
This was a great place. Few stains on the main entrance of the apartment, however that was the only "issue". The apartment was a great size for three people. Two bathrooms are really great. Amenities such as pool and gym were really great! This was a great location definitely would stay here again if in the area!
Stayed with a business colleague in a 2 Bedroom. Much, much cheaper than the nearby Westin - even if it had only been one of us. Unit was clean and well furbished and remarkably quiet for an apartment building downtown. The checkin was smooth and done by the concierge, so clearly the apartment supports it. Overall a great option.
We were very pleased with the accommodations and the service we received - I would definitely recommend this location and Stay Alfred and would be happy to stay here again!
We came to Seattle for the first time this October with 3 young kids. This condo is in the city near Westlake. Lots of things to do nearby. We slept all kids on the king bed. Adults took the queen. There is a pullout couch if needed. The condo suited our needs fantastically. Quiet. No street noise with windows closed. We used the pool each night. There is a Whole Foods not too far for groceries. The only unusual thing we needed was hand soap. However everything else well stocked. The outdoor patio was below us so we got to enjoy viewing grass/flowers out the window with the city beyond
We enjoyed Pikes Place, Ferry to Bainbridge, Aquarium, the Hiram Locks and a few other spots. The highlight for the kids was eating lunch at the top of the Space Needle. If you can, do it. The local seafood/salmon was out of this world. We will come back for more food and more sites another trip
Only difficulty is parking. Spaces are there but small. It's like that everywhere in Seattle though. We did not try public transit but you could access it fairly easily from the condo.
Our 2 bedroom 2 bath was located in the best part of town. It was a short walk to all the attractions that we were interested in seeing. It was very convenient to get to via the light rail system. The condo had great expansive windows giving us a nice city view. Good secure unit with a wonderful 8th floor garden/grilling area. We did not take advantage of the pool/spa. Two comfy couches big enough for all four of us. The only reason I did not give this rental 5 star rating was due to the fact that the carpet was very stained/dirty. Management did give us a partial refund on our cleaning deposit. We would stay here again as long as the carpets were cleaned.
