DESCRIPTION - Maui Tourism Update - Oct 27, 2023

While the horrible wildfires devastated and closed Lahaina to all tourists, Maui officials have announced that the rest of West Maui... Kaanapali and Napili, has now been reopened to tourists once again. Kihei, Wailea and the rest of the Island are also all open and available to tourist. If you would like to assist with the relief efforts in Maui to assist survivors, we suggest the "Maui Strong Fund" a local community organization who can move quickly.

Our very private home, a spacious, 3,500 sq. ft. oceanfront estate, sits on 2/3rds of an acre. It has a large indoor living area, plus an expansive outdoor living area, a 1,000 sq. ft. covered ocean view terrace with a large seating area, a dining table seating up to 14. and a large Weber gas barbeque. The moment you enter the home, step out onto the huge lanai, take in the expansive ocean view, the beautiful tropical landscaping, and your own private pool, you know you've arrived somewhere special.

VRBO IS NOT ABLE TO PRICE OUT OPTIONS, SO THE PRICE YOU SEE ON THIS WEBSITE IS FOR THE HOUSE ONLY, WHICH SLEEPS 12 GUESTS IN 5 BEDROOMS AND 5 BATHS. For larger groups the lower level of our home is available at the additional charge of $195 per night. and has a Great Room, which includes a living room, kitchen and eating area plus a separate bedroom and full ensuite bath. It sleeps 2 adults and three kids and brings the maximum guest total to 17 for both levels of the home. This optional lower level also offers you a the flexibility of adding it to your rental later, if your group becomes larger than originally planned. If you don't need the lower level, it will remain empty to maintain your privacy on the estate. You will always have exclusive use of the property.

If your group is more than 17 we also have a beautiful 1,080 sq. ft., two-bedroom, two bath beachfront condo available about a half mile from our house, accommodating up to 6 guests. It is apartment G-10 at the Maalaea Surf Resort and photos of our condo are included on the resort's website.

TWO IMPORTANT NOTES:
1. THIS HOME IS A LEGAL VACATION RENTAL PROPERTY and has been officially approved and licensed by the County of Maui. Some Maui vacation rentals are not licensed and operate illegally to avoid paying the 17.42% tax due on rental income. The County of Maui Enforcement Division is aggressively shutting down illegal vacation rentals.
2. THE CANCELLATION POLICY STATED BY VRBO INDICATING THAT WE PROVIDE NO REFUND IS INCORRECT. We do provide a full refund until 180 days prior to arrival, however cancellations received from 180 to 60 days prior to arrival will lose their initial deposit. There are no refunds for cancellations made within 60 days of arrival.

Our home is located on the leeward side of the beautiful tropical island paradise of Maui. The house was originally built as a beach getaway for a wealthy Maui family living on the slopes of the nearby Haleakala volcano. Built on 2/3 of an acre, and fronting the beach and ocean, the house has the feel of old Hawaii with its lava rock walls and fireplace, high beamed ceiling, large, covered lanai, expansive lawn, private pool (solar heating system), and beautiful tropical landscaping, which includes a wonderful old Banyan tree, flowering plumeria trees, tropical fruit trees, and 8 coconut palm trees. With its expansive grounds and sleeping capacity, it is perfect for extended family groups, reunions, anniversaries, and other low-key celebrations. PLEASE NOTE !! WEDDINGS ARE NOT ALLOWED ON OUR PROPERTY, are a violation of Maui County law and may be subject to fines and loss of damage deposit. Low key family celebrations such as birthdays or anniversaries are welcome, however attendees to any and all events held at the home are restricted to guests listed on the Rental Agreement and staying at the home.

The moment you walk through the double door entry you will be treated to an expansive ocean view and a white sand beach is just 50 feet from the front of our property. We face West and you will enjoy amazing sunsets, and in winter months whale sightings right from your lanai. Our home offers everything you could want in a large, luxury beachfront vacation rental.

With its lava rock wall, and electronic entrance gate, you'll enjoy complete privacy and security. There is secure off-street parking for up to 6 vehicles. The home is perfect for extended families, and a great place to host celebrations and other events, however we want to stress that this is not a party house, and we do ask that, in respect to our neighbors, noise levels be kept moderate at all times. Quiet hours are from 10 pm to 8 am. All events and special celebrations must be approved in advance by the owner.

ALL OUR BEDROOMS ARE AIR CONDITIONED AND HAVE INDIVIDUAL CONTROLS.
In the main home the large master bedroom has a king bed and a queen sleeper sofa. A second, slightly smaller ocean front master bedroom also has a king bed. Both masters have ensuite baths and sliding glass doors leading to the front lanai. There are also two bedrooms with queen beds sleeping 2 each, and one bedroom with twin beds sleeping 2. These three bedrooms all have ensuite baths as well. The large (optional) lower level of the home is 1,000 sq ft and includes a living area, dining area, and kitchen. Its bedroom has an en-suite bath and a queen bed. A queen sized sleeper sofa and a one-person sleeper sofa are in the living room and bring the lower level's sleeping capacity to 5. As sleeper sofa mattresses are only 4" to 5" thick, they are not as comfortable as regular beds and are best suited for children.

Our house is really one of a kind... you will be hard pressed to find another oceanfront luxury vacation rental that sleeps this many people comfortably at this price level. As you can see from our busy reservations calendar, others agree as well! All available dates are listed on the availability calendar on our webpage and is constantly updated.

PLEASE NOTE... We do not list our home on Craig's List. If you see our house listed on any other site other than VRBO, it is a fraudulent listing. We never request payments via wire transfer. Any such request is also an indication of fraud.

We do have a few negatives we want you to know about. While we have a wonderful ocean view, we also have some power lines to look at as well. And while you can hear the waves on the beach you can also hear some car noise as they pass in front of the house. While the home lives all on one level, there is a flight of steps to negotiate from the parking lot to reach the front door.

Our Estate Home has a full laundry room and two refrigerators to handle the crowd. A third refrigerator is in the lower level. There is a huge entertainment size living and dining area (31' x 23') and three large dining tables.... one inside and two out on the covered ocean front lanai. This shaded terrace is 23' x 47' adding an additional 1,100 sq ft of outside living space that includes a large seating area, barbeque, and two large dining tables that accommodate 14. The inviting private pool has a roof mounted solar heating system and the pool is comfortable for swimming year round. It is serviced weekly.

WE'VE ADDED MANY UPGRADES OVER THE YEARS, including a 55-inch HDTV, newer major appliances in the kitchen, outdoor dining tables with 14 chairs, an outdoor lounge seating area, six pool lounges, and new bedspreads in all the bedrooms. Four bathrooms were completely remodeled in 2018. In 2019 all 5 bedrooms had new floors and base boards installed. 9 new slider windows were also installed in 2019. In 2020 we have added individually controlled air conditioning to all the bedrooms. The main living area is not air conditioned. New window shades have been installed in all bedrooms in 2020. Outside the landscaping has been upgraded as well, adding areca palms, plumeria trees, birds of paradise, banana and key lime trees. Also in 2020, we added a new kitchen and new travertine tile floor in the great room, kitchen, hallway, and guest bath and the home was completely repainted throughout.

THE WHITE SAND BEACH IN FRONT OF OUR HOME IS ONE OF THE BEST SWIMMING BEACHES ON THE ISLAND, usually with gentle waves, and is very child friendly with no undertows or currents. Mornings are normally best for swimming, as the trade winds usually pick up in the afternoon. If you like to walk the beach, there's over four miles of sand, all the way to Maalaea Harbor!

Our service staff will be on the property from time to time during your stay, but will be as unobtrusive as possible. Our caretaker will take the trash tote out to the street on Sunday and Wednesday night, and our landscaping service and pool service is scheduled for every Friday morning. Our cleaners uses the laundry room in the garage on occasion to wash and dry towels and bedding, and occasionally a spraying service and other service people will arrive to make repairs, etc.

The estate creates a welcoming environment where you can spend private time relaxing with family and friends away from the bustling crowds. A private oceanfront experience with your own pool, a wonderful ocean view, and a huge lawn and garden for the kids to roam safely within the completely walled and gated estate grounds. There are private bedrooms with their own baths for all, and lots of seating options for either congregating or finding a private nook to just get away and relax.

We loved our stay here! Our family of 17 had plenty of room and the house is very well stocked! We enjoyed being across from a great beach and absolutely loved having our own pool. We would stay here again in a heartbeat!

Spring Break Trip - Family of 12
We stayed here for our spring break trip with a family of 12 (including 3 babies under the age of 18 months). We only rented the upstairs portion and it fit us perfectly with each bedroom having a bathroom attached. The yard was very large and perfect for the kids to play in, and the adults to lounge by the pool. The host was extremely accommodating and easy to get ahold of for things like a propane refill for the BBQ and attention to a leaky sink. The downfall of this property in my opinion is the location of the property. It is right on a busy road so you can hear the cars all day and night, and the beach is not as nice as it is when you get closer to Wailea. But again, that is personal preference. Overall it was a good stay.

Great Time in Kihei
We chose this house due to it's proximity to the ocean, the fact that it had 4 bedrooms with private bath and the lanai/pool area looked very inviting. We are very familiar with the Kihei area as well which was a plus. The house met every expectation that we had. I would highly recommend renting this house if you have 4 or 5 parties (there is a Ohana if needed for a 5th party) that would like to have privacy but also hang around together in the common area. Places like this are hard to find!

Beautiful property; lay out allowed for privacy and great room for large gatherings; excellent furniture; nice kitchen; beautiful landscaping. Close to beach as indicated but is not a swimming beach. Good for walks. Have to drive a short distance to swimming beaches. Pool temp was comfortable, but pool needs repair. Tiles missing; algae growing along tile edge. Major complaints about twin bed - room and adjoining bedroom. Room [twin] dirty and dusty; floor not swept. Used 2 garbage bags of paper towels to wipe furniture walls and floor. Very dusty. white bedspread had brown stain on it. It and linens had to be washed. Bathroom shower curtain had mold on bottom hem. bath drain stopped up. Other bathroom cold water tap did not work. Other bedroom [queen bed] fine layer of dust and dirt. Floor dirty and needed to be cleaned. Master bath /tile shower has black mold top left. Bathroom next to master bedroom, has fan so loud it sounds like a hot rod. Everything still worked out ok but lack of cleanliness and maintenance was a real downer for a family birthday. Al Pozos

It's easy to understand how Maui has been voted time and time again as the top island destination in the world!

Built on 2/3 of an acre, fronting the beach and ocean, the house has the feel of old Hawaiiana with its lava rock walls, fireplace, high beamed ceiling, large covered terrace, expansive lawn, heated private pool, and beautiful tropical landscaping, which includes a wonderful old Banyan tree, large Monkeypod tree, fruit trees, flowering plumeria trees, and lots of coconut palms. With its expansive grounds and sleeping capacity, it is perfect for extended family groups, multiple families, reunions, anniversaries, and other celebrations. Our guests often bring extended family with them and we also offer the option of adding the lower level of our home to the rental at any time if the size of their group grows larger than 12 guests. This lower level is approximately 1,000 sq ft and rents for an additional $195 per night. The perimeter of the property has walls, fences and gates and may also be video surveilled.
