Wonderful Stay!

We very much enjoyed our time in Savannah. The suite was just as advertised, charming and well-maintained. We savored scrumptious meals at The Public restaurant, just a 15 minute walk from the property.

Great little place to stay.

We enjoyed staying in the apartment. It was just he right distance to take in the sites as we walked to the river. I would recommend this again.

Clean and comfortable. Good location.

The unit is cozy and well maintained. It is comfortable and even has an upgraded kitchen. The unit is across the street from Forsyth Park. The property manager promptly solved any issue that arose during my stay. I would definitely recommend this place for no more than 2 adults looking to stay in Savannah's historic district.

Charming unit at an amazing location

We both really enjoyed our stay at this small, but nice apartment. The unit is within a mid 1800's mansion right on Forsyth Park so the location is really unbeatable in charming Savannah, GA.

The place consists of a living room with non-working fireplace, a bedroom with queen bed and two armoirs, a full, well equipped, albeit small kitchen with granite counters, and a tiny bathroom with a small shower but no tub and one very small sink.

The shower could stand to have the insert replaced with tile or stone as it is really showing wear, dirt and even a bit of mildew. Savnannah is a very humid place so this unit has a very large window air conditioner and a dehumidifier which we ran pretty much constantly to keep the place comforatable. The down side is the noise produced by these units as well as the fact that the AC unit takes up one of the two living room windows. The living room has two windows, one in the bathroom and two in the bedroom. The place also has a gated entrance right off the park and a small outdoor sitting area.

Overall, we really liked the place. The service and arrangements were handled beautifully with great communication. We would definitely stay here again and recommend it to you.

Part nice, Part not

The entry for the units in this house are underneath the porch that is on the left side in the picture of the front of the house which puts them at a step or two down from street level. Our first impression as we stepped in to the unit was a significant musty odor and since my wife is allergic to molds I wasn't sure we'd be able to stay there. We ran both the air conditioner and dehumidifier while we were there. I must say the odor was only a problem upon entry to the unit and did not bother us if we stayed in there awhile. The living area is nice, it has a sofa and a small table with 2 chairs. Bedroom is fine. The kitchen is beautiful, but we never used it as we ate out all our meals. The bathroom is the not so nice part. There are moldy spots in the shower stall and the floor around the toilet, which appears to be painted brick is badly in need of freshening. We only had one interaction with the property manager which was positive. We had a little trouble figuring out the front door lock and called the property manager. She responded quickly.

The property is in a good location, right across the street from the north end of Forsyth Park. It is a little bit of a hike to get to the Savannah River area, but easily doable if you are used to walking. There are a number of good restaurants on Bull St.that are not far, Six Pence pub and the Public House. Other places I'd eat at again, Blue Moon Brewery, Vic's on the River, and The Crab Shack on Tybee Island. With the current condition of the bathroom and the musty odor, I would not recommend this unit to a friend or relative.

Our Savannah visit

We stayed for 3 nights from Oct 16-18. There was no parking on the street where we were told to park because of a movie crew so we had to pay for a parking spot on another street farther away. When the street finally opened up, we parked our car and didn't use it for the rest of our stay because we didn't want to lose our parking space. When we first arrived we couldn't locate the entryway because the picture of the front door displayed at the Homeaway website is the entryway for one of the residential units. Being new to Savannah we didn't realize that a typical Savannah "garden suite" is located below the residential unit at the street level. This means the front windows are about a foot or two above the street.

The unit was very musty smelling and the de-humidifier and old A/C window unit did nothing to improve the odor. We had to make a call to the manager about the thick dust hanging from the ceiling fans, which was taken care of quickly to her credit. The bedroom is nice, and the kitchen is updated but the tiny bathroom is right off the kitchen. The only window in the bathroom is covered with a shade and opens to a paint/maintenance storage area under the stairway of the main residence. Painters were present during our visit. The apartment borders Whitaker St. which is very noisy with traffic all hours of the night. You either use earplugs or run the a/c to dampen the noise. The location is pretty far south of River Street and City Market but there are a few decent places to eat in the general area and Forsythe Park is beautiful. We had a good time away from our unit - Savannah itself is lovely and we will visit again.

Resposta do proprietário: Our guests happiness and satisfaction is very important to us and we do our best to respond in a manner to insure that we continue to provide the best service and accommodations for our guests. We regret that the City permitted a movie crew to film a movie next door on the weekend that this guest arrived and that it inconvenienced their ability to park, but this was beyond our control. The guests were openly aggravated about the issue and it seemed to set the tone for an increased level of sensitivity on other issues. We've never received complaints about musty odors. The "old" window unit is less than a year old. This is the first complaint in over 3 years of renting the park suite of the street noise being an issue for our guests. We believe we live in one of the best locations in Savannah on Forsyth Park and most of our guests that have left 5 star reviews have commented about how much they enjoyed the location. There are a number of fabulous restaurants and shops near our home. We feel that we have fairly represented the location of our home, our rental agreement provides specific instructions on the location of the guest suite, and photos accurately depict the size of the bathroom. As with all reviews, we will try to take the criticism in a positive manner. However, we feel that is review is a bit unfair and prompted by the aggravation over the movie crew and parking issue.
