Nice views from deck. Convenient location.

The key in lockbox was jammed under the hinge and wouldn't open for about half hour of trying. The answering service to buzz us in rang busy for about 3 minutes. The labels on the multiple keys were worn off leading to confusion for parking garage ,getting back in to building, etc. The breaker blew When we turned on the bathroom fan within 5 minutes of arriving. Since the above all happened within the space of under one hour our impressions were clouded and we all were disappointed.

Here's a tip. Don't send the kids along while getting keys and parking pass...keep them in the car so they don't hear choice words, and send the person strong enough to force the box open if jammed. Maybe park at target and spend 20.00, walk over and make sure you can get in before unloading your bags in 3 minute parking zone.

Once we got over the learning curve, we had a great time. I don't want to discourage anyone from this rental (really a great location, the shared patio was very nice and very few people) but a few fixes like re labeling the keys and fixing the lockbox so the key doesn't slip under hinge would help a lot for first impressions.

Stuffy Unit w/No Privacy, Working Keys, or Safety

My sister and I were looking forward to staying here. She had looked for units with air conditioning & this one came up on the search. We arrived in Seattle to 90+ degree weather. Needless to say, we were looking forward to cooling down.

After trying to unlock the door which the owners said was difficult (which is an understatement), we finally managed to enter the unit. It was 89 degrees inside, stuffy, and humid.

In addition to two ineffective fans that blew hot air around, the "air conditioner" was an "in-unit" one. Basically what that means is a box that sits in the middle of a room and emits cold air about 1' in front of it. There is a large tube that extends from the back that is supposed to be vented outside.

Since the unit was clearly misrepresented, my sister called the owner. The owner told my sister to simply open the door, put the tube outside, and keep the door open. All. The. Time.

Wait...what? We were supposed to open the door and keep it open all the time? Why, yes, because - according to the owner - "that's how it's done in Seattle."

Really? Because we stayed and traveled around Seattle and didn't see doors wide open with tubes sticking out of them nor did we see ANYONE with open doors letting the hot air into their units to cool them down. Nope. Not one.

According to the owner, we were to leave the patio door open all the time in order for the tube of the "air conditioner" to go outside. So, if the next door neighbor wanted to they could easily crawl over the low railing connecting the two units and enter the apartment since there wasn't even a lockable screen door leading to the patio.

From a safety standpoint, neither my sister or I felt this was acceptable. Who in their right mind tells guests to leave the door open *all night* when someone could enter the unit?

Leaving a door open is an open invitation to either being robbed or assaulted. If we left the door open during the day and the place was vandalized, we risked being responsible for damages.

Being that we weren't in the mood to be assaulted or robbed during our stay in Seattle nor did we want to pay for damage to the unit if it was vandalized, we felt it was best not to stay there.

Other challenges: the patio only holds 2 chairs & a table. The view is apartments that we could see into. The building keys don't work well. When returning keys, we tried unsuccessfully for 25 min. to get in the complex. This unit provides a stressful, frustrating experience.

best place to stay in the heart of Seattle

All the amenities you are looking for. Next door to Pike's Market, walking distance to all of downtown Seattle. Loved the fresh ground beans every morning! This was the perfect base for all of our excursions, be it shopping, sight-seeing or dining. We took advantage of the multitude of restaurants close by, and the rooftop sitting area was the perfect place to unwind at the end of the day. Gorgeous view of the waterfront. Would definitely stay here again!

Excellent Seattle pre-cruise stay

We were in town for an Alaskan cruise to celebrate my in-laws anniversary. We decided to come in a couple of days early to also enjoy Seattle. Although I had been to Seattle for work, I really hadn't spent any time as a tourist. We loved it! Emma and Van's place was a great crash pad, and the location so close to the market couldn't be beat. We were there in late July, and it was very warm. It was a relief to have a place that had air conditioning. The kitchen was very well equipped with everything we could possibly need, though we ended up getting a lot of our eats from the market since it was so close. We also really enjoyed relaxing on the roof deck. Sunset was beautiful. We didn't use the parking since we didn't have a car, and you really didn't need one with this location and a short stay. Plenty to do within walking distance, and Uber was aplenty in Seattle. The apartment itself was very quiet, and we never heard noises from any of the neighbors. There were four of us total (2 adults and 2 kids), and it was a bit tight. However, it was spacious compared to the cruise ship! And having the washer and dryer available so that we could start the cruise with no dirty laundry was a big plus. Overall, it's probably a bit more ideal for just 2 people for any sort of extended stay.

Emma and Van couldn't have been nicer and left a great guide to the area to help us out. I was sorry we weren't staying longer.

Pugent Sound Views!!

The property location is great. Literally a block from the market. The views from the balcony and rooftop garden are fantastic. We enjoyed bottles of wine watching the Bainbridge Ferry come in and go out while using the rooftop grill. Emma went out of her way to replace the coffee maker which broke during our stay. The City Target store is just a few blocks away and what we could not buy from the market, we acquired from Target. This cozy condo really does let you experience the many facets of Seattle. I would definitely recommend this to another couple who want the real Seattle experience.

I cannot stress enough how fantastic the location is. You are right near everything along the waterfront, a quick walk to everything downtown and not far from pioneer square too! Condo has all the amenities you need for a pleasant stay, seems like that have made sure you have everything, plus lots more. The brochures and booklets about what to do was nice. Also - everything labelled so you know what remote goes to what, what is in each drawer, etc... Only drawback was patio and bedroom were a bit smaller than expected, but the benefits easily outweigh that. I will be staying here every time I come to Seattle.
