My husband and I stayed in the garden studio for 2+ months during our relocation to Austin, TX. While we had some initial concerns about the size of the studio coupled to our length of stay, it ended up being a charming alternative to the bland, high-priced extended stay hotels and furnished corporate apartments.
The location of the studio couldn't be better. It is in a quiet and peaceful neighborhood but still close to it all, including our favorites Kerbey Lane Cafe and Anderson's Coffee. The studio itself is tastefully decorated and has all the amenities of home including a fully stocked kitchen, comfortable bedding, and plush towels. Finally Dierdre is an excellent host, always friendly and ready to help and accommodate. Our stay has been lovely and we'll miss it when we move along.
We stayed here for several weeks during our house hunt in Austin. The property is in the center of the city near the university and is easy walking distance to shopping and restaurants. We couldn't have been happier with our stay and Deirdre is wonderful! She quickly answered any question we had and mad booking and staying there an absolute delight! If I could give the cottage a SIX star rating I would. A great time! Thanks Deirdre!
We are a couple who regularly visit our daughter at the University of Texas at Austin. We usually stay with her, but this time we wanted to be nearby, but on our own. The location was perfect for us and from our first contact with the owner, Deirdre, we were delighted with her welcoming and helpful efforts to accommodate us in every way from start to finish. Although she was away during our stay, without once meeting, we felt very personally looked-after with prompt and caring attention. Thanks, Deirdre!
We were so pleased to arrive and find that every detail was just as advertised! It was cosy, more comfortable than we would have thought possible, suited in every way to our needs, neat as a pin and twice as clean (and one of us is a shameless clean-freak!) And what fun to have a lovely private and beautifully manicured outdoor area to step right out the door into. Sitting at the shaded patio table with a freshly brewed morning coffee was a treat even when the mornings were hot, as well as early in the evening when the fencing blocked the sun at the time of year.
The neighbourhood is really lovely, very quiet residential, but short walks and/or drives to every convenience (again just as advertised) including U.T., and beautiful downtown Austin, and easy access in every direction to explore further afield.
One of our favourite aspects of the cottage was that we were able to put away all our travelling paraphernalia (we explored North America by car for a couple of weeks before arriving). Everything fit into the large closet, kitchen cupboards, and large dresser, so that we really felt we were 'at home' after a couple of hours of settling in.
We could go on about every little detail in the same glowing terms and we definitely hope to stay here again.
I had a great experience during my two month stay at the private garden cottage near U.T. Deirdre was extremely helpful and easy to communicate with. She made me feel very welcome in Austin. I love the Southwest inspired decor. Everything was clean and working properly. I was commuting downtown for work and had no problem catching the bus or even walking. I would definitely stay at this location again.
Location, layout, and amenities were all terrific and in accordance with the online description. The property is well maintained and was very clean upon arrival. I appreciated the easy access to Mopac and short commute to UT's campus as I am a graduate student. The owner provided great customer service. She is very kind and was quick to respond to any questions/needs I had! I enjoyed walking in the neighborhood, Shoal creek, the fresh flower shop, and Brick oven pizza just down the road. I strongly recommend this property.
I really had a great stay at this private garden cottage. The cottage was the perfect size for me! It included everything I needed. It has a fence that surrounds the cottage, to make your stay very private and secure. The outdoor sitting area was one of my favorite parts. Parking right next to cottage is very great. I really enjoyed being able to walk to Kerbey Lane to eat a delicious meal. The owner of the cottage is very sweet and helpful to make your stay everything you expect it to be!
