Near the Androscoggin River, you can launch your kayak or boat, fish, ice fish or check out the newly restored walking bridge and see the views on both sides of the river!
The bike and walking path runs right along the river for about 4 miles and gives you a little bit of history along the way. Check out the local theater & cinema scene with live theater from the Maine State Music Theater, Theater Project, Frontier Cafe and the Evening Star.
The mall park downtown offers free ice skating in the winter and a wonderful mix of festivals, outdoor markets and concerts all summer long.

In the other direction you can follow scenic Route 1 up the coast a bit and check out all the little villages along the way, or plan a day at Popham Beach State Park & Fort Popham or Reid State Park, two beautiful beaches on the open Atlantic Ocean.
