This beautiful house is right on a secluded beach. Perfect for family gatherings with plenty of room and all the beach toys for the kids. Even better than the pictures suggest. The furnishings are upscale and very comfortable. While there are no stores on the island, the Palm Island Resort is right next door and you can eat at the restaurant, which is a convenient short walk away. The owner is very accommodating although there is nothing else needed for a great vacation. You can't go wrong with Floridays.
Beautiful home right on the ocean. House was set up perfectly. The owner was very attentive and made sure everything was as expected. Will definitely return!
We spent a week at Floriday's this March celebrating our 25th Wedding anniversary with our grown children and grandchildren. We had 10 adult and 3 children, ages 5-9 and it was an overall FANTASTIC experience.
Florida's is a beautiful home situated right on the beach of Palm Island, beautifully decorated and clearly well taken care of.
At first, I admit I was a bit apprehensive about having our large group with three active boys in such a beautiful home. Once I entered the house and caught my breath after seeing the view, I was put at ease because although perfectly cared for, the home is also "lived-in" and that made me happy.
Our family enjoyed every inch of this home, from the amazing bedrooms each with its own bath, the upstairs family room where the kids spend nights relaxing and watching movies, to the beautiful decks and amazing views. We sat around the huge kitchen table playing games and commented how great it was to have a table big enough for everyone.
We walked the beach multiple times a day collecting shells, sand dollars, and fossilized shark teeth; we were never tired of it. We fished right off the beach everyday catching 2 ft. sand sharks, bonnet sharks and sea Catfish. We flew kites on the beach and used the kayaks provided to explore the island.
Everyone enjoyed sitting on the beach to watch the sunsets and almost everyday would see dolphins swimming right in front of us!
If you are looking for an amazing relaxing beach experience, this is it.
From the minute I booked the stay Sharon was responsive and answered all of my questions. She contacted me by email upon our arrival to make sure everything was satisfactory and ensure we had what we needed. Barbara, the property manager was great and willing to assist us with anything we needed.
The home comes stocked with everything you need for cooking, beach chairs and towels are plenty and there's lots of beach toys for the kids.
The island does cause some travel issues, so be aware that once you get there by ferry its $55 round trip to get on/off the island; thats an added expense. We stocked up at Costco for our arrival and for the most part had everything we needed.
That being said the ferry is also a fun experience.
Before we even made it back to Alaska, Sharon had already refunded our security deposit.
When asking our family, everyone gave it a 5-star. Thanks Sharon!
The house was fabulous. It was wonderfully situated, beautifully equipped, really good cooking kitchen and tastefully furnished. If I was just rating this rental on the house and beach I would give it 5 stars plus.
The one caveat in renting this house would be the difficulty of access. You can only get to the island by a fairly expensive, but short ferry ride. There is no commerce on the island, except for one restaurant, and a candy/ice cream shop located in the resort that is next to the house. We had toddlers with us, and they needed more variety than just the beach. And, we needed frequent grocery re-stocking, even though we were very organized about our shopping! We found ourselves going back and forth on the ferry a lot.
If I was looking for a house for just adults, or people who liked to stay on the great beach, or on the fabulous porch, and didn't want outside entertainment, I would rent this house in a minute. The quietness of, and lack of commercialism on the island are also big pluses. However, if you need diversions, you might want to reconsider Palm Island.
We were lucky enough to spend our 2nd time for Spring Break at this house. The home is truly amazing... it has everything you may need. Wonderfully stocked kitchen, big laundry room, ample room for all to hand in family room and of course... amazing views and beach to wake up to! The master suite is so relaxing as well. Palm Island is a perfect place for those that want to get "off the grid" for a while- even though wi-fi is available! So relaxing and love the vibe of the island. We would highly recommend this house to our friends and family. Sharon is fantastic to work with as well as Barbara, the on island manager. Always hard to leave FLORIDAYS! Wonderful family memories created at this home.
We had a terrific week at this beautiful house. I felt like the house was much larger than the photos represented. There were 7 of us in our group and there was more than enough room. The kitchen is very well equipped. The island is beautiful and even with the nearby resort full, you rarely saw more than about 5 people on the beach at any time. The owner was very available for questions and was easy to work with. Highly recommended and we hope to be back again.
