This house was perfect for our large family thanksgiving. There were many kids and there is lots of room and things for them to do (tv's, pool table, foosball, ping pong, fire pit, hot tub, lots of tabletops for games). Adults were very comfortable and had a great time too with plenty of room for cooking and visiting. It was the perfect set-up. Would definitely rent again.
Ten college buddies from all over the country just converged on Missoula and the Fly Fisherman's Lodge in Lolo MT for our annual fly fishing getaway. What an awesome place!!! This was our first trip to MT as a group, and the first time ever for many of us, and this "lodge" helped make it a memorable one. It's a huge, beautiful home right on the Bitterroot River, convenient to everything including fishing, dining and shopping. It has all the comforts of home and then some, including just about every activity to keep a large group having fun at home in the evenings (pool table, ping pong, hoops, foosball, hot tub, fire pit, and much more). Al, the owner, makes himself readily available if and when necessary. Our group likes to move around the country each year, but considering the accommodations at the Fly Fisherman's Lodge, and the success we had fishing the many waters in the Missoula area, we'll be back. Fabulous place!!!
We were so pleased to stay in this well appointed, beautiful home for our vacation time near Missoula, MT. There was not one thing missing from this luxury home, except more time. The caretaker was extremely helpful in accommodating our plans and giving us information on local outfitters. The town of Lolo is quaint with small town feel, great restaurants, and friendly folks. A quick drive into Missoula was convenient, but the best part of this home is the immediate access to uncontested fishing in so many breathtaking riverways, forks, and tributaries. Not one of us, including our teen/twenty year old children wanted to leave. Packing... was dreadful. We will be back!
Stayed in the house for a couple days and hosted a 50th anniversary for my parents at the house. It was the perfect centralized location for family in Florence, Missoula, and people flying in. The only issue was finding Hugo Ln for many of them, it's not on map services/apps. Other than that everyone appreciated the setting the house/property provided. Great house for the kiddos too, although their worm chucking skills didn't land them any fish this time. Al was great at getting back to me quickly when questions came up about logistics of party rentals, parking etc. Would stay there again and got a lot of comments from the local guests "great place to keep in mind for future gatherings"
This was a great place for our winter rendezvous with friends. The lodge was huge and very nice. Al was great to work with and the lodge was well stocked with everything that we needed. The only surprises were pleasant ones. The lodge was much closer to town than it originally seemed. And there weren't any pictures of the garage, but it had a treadmill, elliptical, dumbbells, and a ping pong table.
My daughter booked this property for an after Christmas family gathtering. It was all the listing portrays it to be but there were a few concerns that we encountered upon our arrival and throughout the 4 days there. After the first night we discovered that a mouse (or mice) liked our peanut butter cookies as much as I do and the Cheetos left in the pantry. We bought a mouse trap and then the little sucker took it too, not sure but after the discovery we sat all of the package food on top of the washer and dryer to be safe. One of the upstairs bedrooms had a number of LARGE spiders and several dropping down on the king bed and in the bathroom. One of my daughters was not as impressed by this as were others - but she was the one sleeping in that room. Problem during the entire stay. The hot tub was working great but needed the chemical balanced out and one of my son-in-laws is a whiz at that kind of stuff and had it in balance within a couple hours. Although the outward appearance of the interior looked clean I did notice the furniture had tons of crumbs and dog hair in every crack and crevice and even found a Leatherman tool in one of the couches.
My wife and I stayed in the apartment upstairs and it looks to be fairly new or remodeled. A great location for some peace and quiet as needed. Shower was an elbow bumper but not a big deal. It was really cold out side and you had to go outside to climb the snowy steps to get there, but well worth the trip.
The garage was heated and nice for the kids to play in as well as having the really nice game room downstairs. Kitchen and dining room were more than adequate to prepare and serve meals and play games. The location and the scenery were great from inside. Internet pictures appear out in the wilderness by yourself but there are other residences on both sides and in front of the place.
It was quiet except for the New Years celebration beginning about 11:00 pm until after midnight. If you don't like guns you would not have enjoyed it as much - anyway, those around us spent several hundred dollars celebrating the New Year with live ammo. I guess if you don't like guns - Montana would not be a place for you anyway??
All in all we had a good time and glad we went. I do think that spending more time getting it ready for clients with a through cleaning would be worthwhile. We got the feeling somebody lives there when it is not being rented as a fishing lodge.
Thanks for sharing!!
