Lovely lakeside cottage
We had a fantastic stay at this charming cottage. We had a great time boating around the beautiful lake, and Christopher was a very accommodating host. The surrounding community is peaceful—perfect for a relaxing getaway. We’d love to come back!
We enjoyed a lot
Wonderful stay for my family and me we enjoyed the water and the privacy we recieved. Kayak was one of the best activities we did there. Overall it was a great place to stay it was nice and cozy for the whole family. My dog also had alot of fun.
Very rustic, cozy, and well equipped property. It was three days in heaven. The confined backyard kept the dogs in at all times. Explored the lake kayaking. Also tried the paddle boat. Bonfires, BBQs on the grill, and wine every night. Loved the dock. As a photographer, I enjoyed taking pictures of everything. Thank you, Chris, for sharing your lovely property. We even enjoyed watching the thunderstorm from the inside!!!
(I have to mention for those who complain about property being “too rustic” about “no ladder on the dock”, these are rural country properties-not the Hilton Hotel or an all inclusive swimming pool in the Caribbean. And for those complaing about the lake being shallow..... write a complaint letter to Mother Nature). We love these properties, mostly to get away from “shallow” and ridiculous people!!!!). Had to throw that in! Again, THANK YOU, Chris!!!! Will most definitely return!
fun lake getaway
The cabin is definitely a cabin, with lots of funky charm. Very quiet, end of the road location and the private dock with lots of boats makes for amazing water and yard play for the kids! We had so much fun. Don't expect anything fancy with the cabin (unlevel floors, minimal/low water pressure, some cobwebs, tiny kitchen with basic equipment, bring a good knife if you're planning to cook). Christopher is a very kind and helpful host!
Great Lake! Cottage was ok!
Overall it was a lovely stay. They did upgrade the TV based on the photos, but it is overall very rustic. The lake is very shallow so you can't really jump off the dock and there is no ladder to actually get back onto the dock from the water - only a metal step that is VERY slippery and a bit unsafe. Unfortunately, the paddle boat was totally flooded so we weren't able to even use that and the boat that was supposed to have 3 swivel chairs only had 2 and they were both broken. We must have been the first occupants of the summer as the tables outside were covered in webs and pollen and the cushions for the chairs were never brought outside. We were there for a heat wave and it was almost unbearable inside - there is no A/C. Thankfully Chris had a couple of window fans, BUT definitely bring your own if you go during the summer. Lastly, I would have given this 3.5 stars because our bathroom sink never worked. It was broken before we got there and never fixed. We got there Monday, and no one came until Wed to look at it (which they then realized they couldn't fix it) and we were leaving Thursday. It's very hard to not have a bathroom sink with 6 people! The lake is what gets the 4 stars! Its beautiful and the beach across the way (which we kayaked to) was great for the kids!
My apologies that you didn't have a 5 star stay!
And yes it was exceptionally hot and humid over the 4th of July week. The dock area is not designed as a swimming area nor is it advertised as such. There's a private beach a few cottages away as well as the town beach across the lake. And the bathroom sink drain certainly turned into a bigger job than I realized but rest assured it's been resolved. Regarding any other concerns you or any other guests might have in the future, please let me know upfront so we can attempt to immediately remedy the situation.
It was absolutely incredible!
We spent a great time at the cottage the last week of June, 2018. Very spacious and comfortable cottage right on a lake. Incredible opportunity for fishermen! The owners Chris and Gina took a good care of us making sure everything is ok. It happened that a refrigerator got broken. The next day Chris bought a new one! We were very touched. We hope to come back!
