Nice but a couple of flaws but I would still stay again!

The house was clean and just as photographed absolutely beautiful....if you don't know how to work a hot tub, stove like fireplace, and new thermostat systems (different from what we were use to) then you may want to freshen up on those skills. We eventually figured them out but it did take some time. We emailed, text, and called the owners but weren't able to get through as soon as we wanted it to be....but I understand that the owners have their own lives too and may have been busy. However, it did feel as the response we received had a touch of annoyance/attitude with it but I am going to chalk it up to miscommunication. There are some chairs in the home that have damaged and/or broken arm rest but I think the owners are aware and aren't going to try to charge for the damage. What I really liked was the kitchen, master bedroom, pool table and large dining table. It made it perfect for entertaining. The driveway also had enough space for all 5 of our cars with room for a 6th. If you have a large group this house is a good fit.

The property it’s self it’s in a really good locaction, very convenient to all activities and stores

To share part of my experience to any future guest, I don’t recommend to stay here. I will start with my reason to only give it two stars. This is because the location is very convenient, if it wasn’t for this I would give it one star. Our trip turned out to be a total disaster, the owners are very un professional and when it comes to customer service, their is none. My party and I arrived for check in, never receive the appropriate check in information. This resulted to us having to wait outside in cold for 3 hours until we decided to leave. During those 3 hours we contacted the owners by phone ( multiple times) and email. But nothing. We spent a total of about 2 hours (multiple phone calls) with VRBO customer service about this issue, also confirming that the owners didn’t supply us with the check in information needed to access the house, they also tried to reach out to the owners and nothing. As a result my party and I had to check in at a hotel to make sure we had a place to stay. VRBO customer service on the last phone call had some information that might help, but a this point it was useless.

The owners (wife) did reach out to us the next morning, with a text msg saying that she was so sorry that her husband didn’t give us the information required. She didn’t know the code to the door but she gave a code to the garage. Apparently her husband takes care of all this. The husband finally replied around midnight of the last night we booked for ( booked 2 nights) took him 2 days to reply which is unacceptable!!!! My party and I spend a good portion of money at a local hotel to accommodate us for one night. Thanks for all the little bit of information VRBO customer service was able to obtain we didn’t have to spend more money on a second night at a hotel. We were able to access the house for one night ( even though we paid for two) we will see if that gets resolved. But probably not with the customer service and unprofessionalism of the owners. Don’t get me started on the amenities and supplies the house has.... which is none or bare minimum. Another expense my party and I had to make to have basic things like napkins, toilet paper, trash bags... etc..

ALL I CAN SAY, IS LOOK FOR ANOTHER PLACE IF YOU WANT TO GET ANY CUSTOMER SERVICE FROM OWNERS....

Resposta do proprietário: Sorry about the snafu with the door code. It's been a very busy season with back to back rentals and we accidentally overlooked one guest. This is a rental property, not a hotel. Guests should confirm prior to travel to be sure they have all the necessary information, rather than just showing up. We generally respond same day to all messages, except in this case I was traveling overseas and didn't receive the message and have a chance to reply until the next day. We apologize for the inconvenience will refund the cost of the lost night. Regarding supplies we normally have everything well stocked, and our cleaning crew always makes sure everything is set out in sufficient quantities for each arriving party. It's always possible for something to run out, but in any case Safeway is just 5 minutes away, and we will always reimburse our guests for reasonable costs if there is something missing. Overall we work very hard to maintain the house in good condition with all necessary supplies and amenities, and as a result our home is one of the most popular 4BR in SLT according to Homeaway. Just in 2017 we purchased a new hot tub, a new BBQ grill, a bear box for trash, a new coffeemaker, and a new blender. Maintaining a 4BR home with heavy winter and summer traffic can be a challenge, and we are always looking for ways to improve.

House in good location

The house was dusty, the carpets were dirty. There were a few broken chairs in the dining room. Extra sheets in one of the bedroom closets where stain with blood, that was disgusting. There was no propane gas for the grill, we had to go to the store and buy some propane which was very inconvenient when you're expecting everything to be working, and available for you. Location of the house was good. The backyard was big, the hot tub was working. For us there were more negative things about the house then positive and for those reasons we would not rent the house again.

Nice house and location

We enjoyed the house over 4th of July weekend and he excellent location. Everything we needed was provided and the yard and hot tub were nice. However, we received a $270 ticket for having our boat trailer on the grass. The host did not state anywhere that this is a violation in south Lake Tahoe as we are not from the area. The rental terms state that parking is freely available. We wish we were informed of this but instead we received a rude message asking why we were parked on the grass. I explained the situation and never heard back from the owner.

Resposta do proprietário: Visitors to South Lake Tahoe should know that the city has become very strict about VHRs recently and has passed new regulations that affect both owners and visitors. We also received a citation by the police for this event, and now we have to attend a hearing to get our permit renewed, even though Homeaway says our home is one of the most popular in all of SLT and we regularly bring in about 500 visitors per year. We are sorry this happened, but we don't make the rules nor were we even informed of them until after the fact. The citywide ordinance states that VHR guests are not allowed to park anywhere other than on hard surfaces on the rental property itself, not even the street in front of the house. Our rental agreement now includes this notice. If you are bringing a boat or a large number of vehicles to SLT, please check with the owner to be sure there is sufficient parking so that this misfortune does not happen to you.

Comfortable vacation home.

Plenty of room to relax when not out and about. It would be nice to have a little more seating in the living room area. carpets were a little spotty, but that is pretty standard in a rental. The only issue was a ton of garbage left behind by the previous occupants, but once the bear box out front was emptied we were able to dispose of our trash. The overflowing cans in the garage were never emptied, despite repeated assurance from owner that his cleaners were going to haul it away. Overall it was a minor annoyance, but did kind of stick in my craw.

All in all it was a very nice place to stay.
