We loved our quick stay at this beautiful cabin. The view of the river is great and the interior is gorgeous. The only semi-complaint we had is that the hot tub was pretty cool - not sure it ever got to the 104, and was too cool to stay outside for long. Otherwise, perfect stay.
What a great place to have a peaceful, tranquil, relaxing, refreshing girl trip. Five of us travelling buddies stayed in this very nice cabin on a beautilful river and made this our home base. Nights by the cozy fire and making samores at night or sitting in the hot tub was a fine way to end a great day. Very comfortable and secluded. The coloful leaves were at their best for us and the cool mornings were quite a treat. The Serenity Mountain Spa was also a great way to spend an afternoon. One of the best trips ever! We would recommend !
Just wanted to tell Doug, you have a beautiful cabin, everything was just as said. the pictures do not give this place justice. i could not believe how relaxing and fun this trip was, to be able to get on tubes right outside the cabin and float down to Fife bridge on a 3 hour trip. It was so much fun for my grandchildren, and myself. to be able to sit on the porch and watch tubers and kyakers come by each day made it so relaxing. the cabin was so clean, and well kept, loved grilling out on the porch and getting into the hot tub each day. counted 58 deer in one day, but saw them everyday, which my whole family loved. I took my wife, daughter 3 grandchildren and got to take my mother also. everyone said they had a ball, I do not see going to Hot Florida again in the summer, the weather was perfect. Again Doug, thank you for providing such a wonderful place for our vacation.
As most of you know getting it right when traveling is often times tricky. So it is with great pleasure that I can say that for this place,
I got it right...
The cabin is secluded but not isolated. The ambiance is rustic but modern and comfortable. Resort amenities are many but staying put is just as good. The owner, Doug, is exceptional in all the ways important to anyone seeking the mountain cabin experience...and then some.
We (my wife and me) visited the weekend prior to Christmas 2013 with our two sons (30 and 37) and two grandchildren (3 and 6). The weather did not cooperate with rain falling almost the entirety of our three night stay. While the indoor resort amenities might have been a relief even the children were more content to stay in (that May have largely been attributable to their Christmas gifts but still should offer some idea of the comfort level). The riverside location is both visually and audibly stunning even though the amount of rain was significant enough to increase the level of and muddy the the water which compromise the view but enhanced the sound. Now, no rain would have been infinitely better but what you get in that department is what you get.
You should follow Doug's written driving direction especially if arriving after dark. Do not rely on in vehicle navigation, back tracking is tedious. Bring all you supplies with you unless you intend to go into town for other reasons as it is a 20 minute jaunt. Do bring the recommended documents as they are essential on site operations. The fireplace is great, the hot tub is awesome, the outdoor grill is serviceable and it is difficult to light an outdoor fire in the rain in spite of how enjoyable that would otherwise be.
Having said these thing I would conclude simply by stating that I WOULD NOT HESITATE to return to this location but instead seek out any and all opportunities to do so.
Thank you Doug.
PS: Gumbo is just as good in the mountains as it is in our swamp land (if you know how to cook it)
Excellent Location right on the river. Cabin is always clean and everything works.
The pictures of this cabin do not do it justice. It is absolutely beautiful; very well maintained and clean. The scenery is incredible and it is so peaceful. We were in the hot tub one evening and across the river we saw 15, yes, 15!!, deer grazing in the yard of the cabin across the river. The deer would come down to the river and drink and play with each other. We watched them for about 30 minutes. It was AWESOME!!! We have found our "mountain retreat"; the owner is especially helpful and easy to work with on any details. We had a wonderful, relaxing weekend.
