Wonderful owner, cozy property.

We rented this home from May-September and it was perfect for our set up. I lived in the upstairs main house with my 2 small girls, my nanny lived downstairs in the separate studio room and my boss lived in the back guest house on the weekends. We never felt crowded and loved not having to all be in one main house. The back cottage has been completely updated and is very cute. We had a few hiccups along the way with plumbing etc but joe was fantastic, always available and immediately handled everything. (Montauk plumbing and septic is notoriously a nightmare, I deal with it constantly at the hotel I work for, so its nothing against the home.) The home is in walking distance to Montauket, duryeas, and a fantastic beach. You can see the pond from your front yard. (I would pay the neighbor to let me trim their tree, then you would have a REALLY fantastic view of it.) There is a washer and dryer and reliable wifi. There is plenty of parking, all of the appliances you could need and an outdoor shower/ grill/ fire pit. I let my 3 year old play outside by herself and always felt safe.

If youre looking for a pleasant, quiet, peaceful gettaway, I suggest this property.

Beauitful home for a group getaway

I've stayed at this property multiple times in both the winter and summer seasons and repeatedly had a wonderful experience. Joe, the property owner, is the best. He takes fantastic care of the space and his guests alike.

The house is flooded with light and white-washed walls that complement the nearby sand and sea. The calm, beachy vibe makes you feel as if you are somewhere much farther away than the tip of Long Island.

I've stayed here with a group as large as eight and as small as two. The cottage in the back of the main house creates a flexible setup appropriate for either a social or intimate getaway.

I hope to visit this lovely house again soon and relish in the peaceful respite it provides from city life during any season.

Best July ever!

Due to a twist of fate, last minute our original housing plans for the month of July fell through, and I was lucky to find that this amazing house had not yet been rented. Joe was so quick to work with me to make the arrangements necessary for us to arrive in the next 10 days. The house first of all, has the best location. Walking distance from the train and the Montauket- which became our favorite Friday night spots for sunsets and drinks, sometimes dancing too when there was a band!

The house is set up so nicely so that guests have space to come and go as they please. The guest cottage, where I stayed with my friend, was such a nice space. The main house hosts two rooms on the main floor with a living room and kitchen. The master suite is also stunning and has its own entrance. You can tell immediately upon arrival that Joe put a lot of thought and care into the immaculate renovations of his Montauk home.

I am shocked to even see a negative review on here. Joe picked up every single call of mine or immediately responded. He was quick to handle any issues or answer questions. His home and how easy it was to work with him, made for literally the best month of my life with my girlfriends out in Montauk. We hope to rent from again in the future. Thanks so much Joe- you're the best!!!!

Beautiful space. Great Location.

We had such a great experience.

A group six of us stayed for a long weekend in September. It was actually the second time staying here. My girlfriend and I stayed at the main house November 2013 and enjoyed it so much we had to bring our friends back with us.

We took the train from the city. The house is walking distance from the train.

It really is a great space. It comfortable can accommodate 8 people with four bedrooms and pullout couches. Each bathroom has beautiful glass frameless showers and tiled walls. Nicely renovated kitchens in both the main house and the cottage in the back with granite counters and all the essential cooking tools. We grilled out in the backyard. It feels so secluded and peaceful.

We rode the bikes to the Surf Lodge. It was so close!

The sunsets at Fort Pond Bay were my favorite part of the day. There is a private beach entrance very close to the house.

Beautiful space. Great Location. We recommend it for a quick couples getaway from NYC or a summer rental for a group of friends.

Best July out East

I am truly surprised to see a negative review of both the house and of Joe. My girlfriends and I rented this house for the month of July and I would be remiss to say it did not contribute to one of the best summers out in Montauk that I have had. I have family that lives there full time so know the area well and you can't beat the location which was right by the overlook and perfect for catching the sunset at the Montauket. The house was cleaned by a cleaning crew exactly upon the dates that were communicated to us and if we ever had a question, Joe was immediate to respond and rectify. The house was comfortable, clean, and spacious for our needs and am looking forward to renting there again next year. Thank you again Joe for a great month!

Not "Immaculate" and Not 3 Bedrooms!

Sadly this rental is not as described. First, it was hardly immaculate. One bathroom had not even been cleaned and the first floor of the main house had such a strong chemical order (varnish? gas?) that your head hurt within minutes. Also, the cesspool overflowed and we were left with 1 working toilet for more than two days! Were we compensated for that inconvenience? NOPE! But hey, at least the owner withheld part of our deposit with no explanation or reason. Also, this house is NOT THREE BEDROOMS! The main house is a two bedroom house with a completely separate bedroom/bath downstairs that has its own entrance…total disaster if you're traveling with small kids. So the "master" we expected to sleep in was useless because our kids were afraid to be left alone in the upstairs unit. Honestly, you can do a thousand times better in Montauk for the price.

Resposta do proprietário: The house is three bedrooms and sleeps eight. The toilet backed up and was immediately serviced and paid for by the owner - later we found out it was because paper towels were being flushed down the toilet this renter. The renters had a dog - not our policy - but we allowed it because they promised that their dog would not make a mess and it made a huge mess. They broke a mirror, scratched up the hardwood floors and generally did not treat the house with care. We've never had a complaint before. Here is a quote from the first line of her email to me when asking for assistance for the plumbing two weeks into her rental , "Loving the house but having a problem with the toilet..." A plumber was sent and the problem was taken care of immediately. So she loved the house until she had to pay for the damage she and her family did to it out of the deposit. We love our home and welcome respectful people who keep themselves and their surroundings clean.
