We vacationed at this home during our children's Spring Break at Easter. There were 2 teenagers, 2 elementary school kids, parents and a grandparent. We had a great time. The house is very spacious and had everything we needed. We are very laid back and enjoyed that the house had a family friendly feel. We were able to spread out and even all eat dinner together at the large dining table. We rode our bikes to the beach club, pools, marina, and Freshfield's town center. There were deer in the back yard several mornings. This was our first time to Seabrook, and we will definitely be back and hope to rent this house again. Owner was flexible with our dates and easy to deal with. A great family vacation!
I had the pleasure of renting this house this past weekend. A group of my college friends and I take a golf trip annually, and this place couldn't have been more perfect. Even thought the house was built in the 1970s, the home has been updated and well maintained. The four bedroom / three bathroom accomodations were perfect for us and we couldn't have been more pleased with the spacious layout. I would highly recommend this house for a group such as ours or a family looking for a great, quiet vacation home.
Driving up to the house was the first disappointment. The house was in dire need of a power washing. Windows were covered in Spanish Moss, cobwebs and there was visible wood rot around some of the windows.
Previous reviewer said s/he enjoyed the screened in porch--there is no such thing. Owner rightly said porch was closed in. Ceiling fan had been taken out w/ the hole left there. There was a small table-top fan, that did not make it conducive to sitting out and enjoying the room.
Furniture needs to be cleaned. Adding slip covers that could be easily cleaned would be helpful to hide the stains.
Grill was not big enough to serve a big crowd.
Porch was in need of being swept and cleaned. Fake plants on front porch could use a washing. Mold in bathrooms and around some air conditioner vents in ceiling. There has been obvious leaking that has not been taken care of. Owner said it was recently remodeled, but little sign of that. The house has a musty smell. Switches in bathrooms with tape over them and ceiling vents in some bathrooms did not work.
If you are going to cook in, the pots and pans are 1970's teflon and not in good condition.
The owner stated that it is an older home and price reflected it, I have stayed in older beach houses that were comfortable and clean with the absence of mold. Owner needs to pay closer attention to the upkeep of the house. It is in need of an overhaul., painting and some TLC.
EET was left out, so if you have an animal or small child, you need to be aware of it, or owner needs to advise renters.
Beds were comfortable, but sheets on two beds were cheap and uncomfrotable.
The beach area was not easily accessible, not an easy bike ride away.
The owner was easily accessible and helpful to problems.
I highly recommend this home for a family vacation rental. My family has rented this home for two years in a row and we now consider it our vacation home away from home. We love the floor plan as it is spacious and perfect for a large family or extended family to share. It is also a great place for a Girls or Guys getaway weekend as it comfortably sleeps 8 people.
It has everything we need to enjoy a perfect vacation and the owner is so easy to work with. One of our favorite things is the screened in porch adjacent to the dining room. We sit there every morning to enjoy our coffee and read the news on the internet and every evening to enjoy a cocktail or two. Seabrook Island is known for its abundant wildlife and it is a common occurrence to see a mama doe and her babies in the woods just behind this rental home.
We have fallen in love with Seabrook Island and this rental home. Our 13 year old daughter wants to get married Oceanside at the Beach Club one day and stay in this home! We are making sweet memories at Seabrook Island.
