My family has rented six cottages in the area (we love Sleeping Bear Dunes) and we all agreed this was the best. The yard is very private and the home has a great location on the village side of M-22. My husband's favorite traits of this place: screen room, spacious and clean, in the village but private. My son's favorite traits (he's five): cartoons on the TV (cable), smooshy carpet, big bedroom. My favorites: clean laundry room, unscented linens (for allergy sensitive), empty closets and drawers for plenty of storage space, and the screen porch. This home is solid and contains plentiful supplies. It's a great find. I hope you disregard everything I've written---I don't want to compete w others to get a week or two next year!
WE had a great time in Empire, especially in our home for a week. The setting was quiet and private and after a good day's walk or bike ride, was the perfect place to relax and still feel the sea breeze. The home was the nicest we have stayed for comfort, privacy, and closeness to the beach. When we come back to Sleeping Bear, it will be the first place we check. Paul Wilson, Wellington, Ohio
This Empire house is spacious, comfortable, well maintained, and in good location. We enjoyed our stay tremendously and Cora was very easy to work with. The house is within walking distance of everything in Empire, but nicely secluded with trees around it which invited the occasional deer to visit. Empire is a great location only 10-30 minutes from Sleeping Bear Sand Dunes, Traverse City, Glen Arbor, Leland, and more.
A couple of thing to be aware of is that while there are two bathrooms only one has a shower and the other a tub. This worked out just fine for our family! Second, there is no air conditioning so you want to make sure you sleep with the windows and doors open upstairs otherwise it gets warm.

This was a wonderful place to stay. It has everything you need to be comfortable for the week and the screened in porch and sitting area out back are lovely. It is conveniently located to the beach and town, just a short walk or bike ride. I've stayed here several times and would highly recommend it!
Our family loves Empire, and we love to come every summer for a week. We stayed at this home, and it is by far the nicest placed we have stayed at in Empire. First of all it is a home! Lots of room to spread out. 3 bedrooms, 2 baths, balconies that overlook the beautifully landscaped yard. The home was immaculate. We like to cook, and the kitchen had everything and more that we needed. We used the barbecue and sat outside every evening to eat. We loved the covered sunroom and napped in the hammock! We walked to the beach everyday! The owners were so easy to work with, and provided great information and directions for the home. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and will be back for sure!
First off the pictures do not do this place justice. The living room has a unique color scheme or a bit dated but the everything else is beautiful. Everything was extremely clean and well stocked. They provide more supplies than your average rental. It's on the corner so it's quite and has a enough room for our kids to run and play when we just hanging at the house. Can't say enough about this place. One of the first vacations where we weren't itching to get home because we had space, comfort and everything we needed.

$500.00 Deposit due immediately to reserve the property. Remaining rent amount and $500.00 security deposit is due 60 days prior to arrival.
Security Deposit will be refunded approximately 20 days after departure; subject to damages.
If Beach Towels are used, they must be washed before checkout. Failure to do so will result in a $100.00 deduction from your damage deposit. Or just bring your own! Parking pass must be left in the house and keys must be returned to the lockbox. Failure to do either will result in a $100.00 deduction from the security deposit.
Additional Cleaning Fee is $100.00.

Service fee is charged if booked through HomeAway. This fee is nonrefundable.
