Outstanding Property

I know that the property is under new ownership so I feel obligated to leave my review because the other 2 were so poor. This property is OUTSTANDING for families, girl's trips, guy's trips, etc.! It is WALKING distance to the main square, for having dinner or going out/having drinks/not drunk driving home(although take a flashlight as it gets pretty dark). It is right on the creek, and they have a canoe, kayak, paddle board, 2 kids kayaks, and one kids paddle board. You can take the whole family out on the water at once! Ample life vests for the kids. It has a pool if you don't want to put that much effort in to get in the water. There are 3 King beds on the property and 1 Queen, so plenty of bed space for whoever. There is also a fold out couch with a memory foam mattress...awesome! All 3 showers worked perfectly, we had no problems closing the doors. The dining room table turns into a pool table. There is a small game table where you can play chess or checkers. There is also a foosball table and an air hockey table in the casita. There is a piano and a guitar that you can play if you know how. My kids LOVED this place.

Needs maintenance work

The septic system backed up and flooded the la casita room. There are no knobs on the shower in La Casita so it is not functional. The flooding is a re-occurring problem. When we sucked the water up and moved the couch, there were stains up to the top of the couch. The bottom of the doors are cracked from standing water. No hot water after one person takes a shower.

They have done extensive work on the property to renovate the septic and plumbing issues of the past. In addition, they have completely redone two of the bathrooms and added fantastic amenities such as a pool table, air hockey, foosball, and a fire pit. This property is better than ever and we hope to have you back so you can experience it the way it should be experienced!

A pleasant stay, BUT

The grounds and the pool were very nice. The house is a little old but functional. The shower does not work in the cabana room which kinda defeats the purpose of the cabana room. There was no information about garbage pickup and the can was full when we arrived. We called but it did no good. There were some issues with doors that did not shut good , lights that did not work. These things are minor and not a big deal. However, there was one big deal. On Thursday we were cooking in the yard and the kids were swimming. Our nine year old came running in and said "there is a man in our yard". I went out and tried to talk to the man who was apparently there to cut the yard. Why would you send someone to cut while guests are there? The grass was not high. He did not seem to understand my request not to cut and proceeded to cut the grass near the pool where the kids were swimming while i hustled out in front picking up shoes etc so he would not run over them. Suddenly he appeared in the back yard where we were grilling steaks and ran the mower 3 feet from our pit and sprayed grass clippings into our platter of steaks. At this point I became very adamant about not cutting but he shrugged his shoulders and acted like he did not understand. I called the office right away and they were "unaware" that anyone was out there cutting grass. This was uncalled for.We had an overnight infestation of ants in the swimming pool. I called the office and they seemed "perplexed" as to what to do. There was a pool service man that had come by two days before. I figured they would just call him. When nothing was done we went to town and bought a skimmer net and removed them ourselves. Two days later the pool guy shows up. This house has good potential and had it not been for the incident with the "grass fed beef" I would have given it four stars.

Resposta do proprietário: Don, Your comments and feedback are greatly welcomed and appreciated. We strive to deliver an overall "10" experience for each and every one of our guests. I am truly sorry that you feel we fell short during your stay. Please accept my sincere apologies for the apparent challenges you experienced at this property. I have printed out your feedback and given it to our maintenance man so that all of these issues can be addressed properly. Garbage pick up is once a week and our maintenance staff is responsible for setting out the cans. We don't give the guest any directions on this because we don't expect them to have to mess with it. But I can see that informing them we handle it completely would be helpful to know. I do remember you calling regarding the man mowing your yard. We do have a lawn service contracted to come out and tend the yard regularly so that it is always well manicured. During the off peak season it is easy for the mower to only go when the house is vacant. However right now is our busiest time of the year so unfortunately there is almost always guests at the house and we have to continue to maintain the grounds. But never would we want to hear that if you politely asked the man to come back in a couple hours after you were done eating, that he would just disregard your request. Your correct that we were a little "perplexed", I think we were just shocked to hear that this happened at one of our properties. I do apologize that it was not handled in a more professional manner. We do understand your concerns and will try our hardest to improve our current system to better accommodate guests in the future. Once again, thank you for giving us your feedback about your stay, this issue has been discussed with the entire staff.
