The apt was just as it appeared in the pictures, clean and spacious. The bed was very comfortable, and the view was great! We enjoyed that view for many sunrises and sunsets. There is also a new light show on the Bay Bridge that we enjoyed watching in the evenings. There was a bit of noise from the cable cars at night if the windows are open, but hey, that's City living and did not disturb our rest.
The location was excellent and the trolly/bus passed were very much appreciated. It made it very easy to get around the city and explore.
Mike was a great help in directing us around town, and recommending restaurants, etc. We loved our stay and would recommend to all we know if they are heading to SF. Thanks Mike and Amy! From Scott and Maryann
This apt is just as described. Great views of the Golden Gate Bridge! Comfortable bed, clean apartment. Well stocked kitchen with stainless steel appliances. Mike was very easy to work with. We appreciated him letting us leave our luggage early.
The cable car is very convenient to catch. The transit cards were wonderful! Yes, you can hear the cable car outside the window but closing the window certainly helps a lot.
Thanks for a great stay!
The location was perfect, close to down town, 10 minutes from Powell Station, where we took the BART from the Airport. We stayed for a week with our 2 kids (4 and 6 years old). We rented a car for 2 days and found free parking for the night in the streets around.
We had a fun filled time in SF and loved the view from our window at night of the bridge lit up. This apartment was clean and close enough to every thing either by walking, trolley or bus. We took the trolley to the Pier and the line to return was so long that we walked back. Waiting to get on the trolley would have taken an hour and the walk was 1/2 hour. You do get your exercise in SF! The last part of our day was walking up three flight of stairs which the first two were fine and my niece and I would make faces at each other on the last since it always seemed the longest.
Apartment: When we scheduled our San Francisco vacation I could not have imagined how IDEAL this apartment and location would be for us. When we travel I usually clean upon arrival because I am pretty picky. This apartment was spotless, no cleaning needed. Even our socks stayed clean walking around without shoes. The kitchen is fully stocked with dishes, pans, etc. and the washer and dryer made it so we didn't have to pack as much for the 12 day stay.
Transportation: The apartment is on the cable car route so you can ride the cable cars if you get lucky and there is room. We had better luck with the buses and they stop at the corner (1/2 a block away). I used an app called "Smart Ride" and we were able to find our way through the public transport system very easily. To go to Fisherman's Wharf and Pier 39 we walked. It is downhill and not too far, we rode the cable cars back up. The transport passes included with the apartment are wonderful!
Location: This apartment is kind of at the intersection of most of the places we wanted to visit. It is two block from the "real" Chinatown and we ate at little dim sum places a few times as well as purchased food from the bakeries nearby and the produce stands. It is close enough to get everywhere easily but far enough to be out of the crowds. With the exception of the cable cars, it is very quiet. There is a small grocery on the corner, pharmacy within walking distance, full grocery in walking distance, etc.
View: The pictures do not do it justice. We found ourselves staring out the window in awe of the beautiful bay bridge and watching people stop to take pictures of the bridge in front of the building.
Host: Mike is fantastic! When we arrived he came by and brought us information to help us enjoy the city. He recommended several restaurants and all of the ones we tried were wonderful. He also explained the public transportation system to us, helped us figure out where to go and where to avoid and made us feel like family. On our first day we set up the living room with the pull out sofa as a second bedroom for our teenage daughter so she would have some privacy (which was great). When we went to close the pocket door it came off the rails and he came to fix it right away!
Drawback: This apartment is on the forth floor and is a walk up so be ready for the stairs after the hills.
I would (and have already) recommend this apartment to friends/family traveling to San Francisco. It is wonderful!
We had a very pleasant stay in this apartment. It is well located to see most of the typical visiting areas and for connection to the metro, bus tours, etc. Got very helpful guidance from the owners on ways to get to and from airport, and we really appreciated having the passes for the cable car and local buses. The unit was clean and had all the basic necessities. We did not go out much after supper and though Netflix is available, we would have enjoyed having at least broadcast TV. (I would think a cheap antenna would provide a fair number of stations at no monthly cost, especially in this top (4th) floor location on a moderately high part of the city.) Wifi worked very well. Enjoyed the view. Appreciated the quiet of the building; although cable car noise is notable at night for this light sleeper, I took ear plugs in anticipation of this issue and had no problem. Probably around a15 minute walk to Fisherman's Wharf or Union Square area. Parking would be a headache but wouldn't recommend bringing a car anywhere in town anyway. You can make transit connections to all the local attractions plus neighboring areas of Sausolito and Muir Woods, which we enjoyed a great deal. We highly recommend this as a a place to stay.
