Roupa de cama nova, carpete novo em toda esta casa limpa. Você também terá uma garagem para 3 carros, uma doca com assentos, muita privacidade. 100 pés de fachada e um monte muito profundo! Há também um poço à beira do lago de fogo.

Este é um rancho sem degraus, ótimo para crianças, adultos e animais de estimação em alguns casos muito bem comportados. Abundância de estacionamento, muitas árvores e perto da cidade de Bellaire. Traga o seu barco e todos os brinquedos para umas férias fantásticas!

É um fabuloso lago de todos os esportes, bem como grande lago de pesca (truta do lago, peixe branco boca, pequena). A cor bonita do lago irá lembrá-lo do Caribe!

Este é um rancho sem degraus que enfrenta o oeste para pores do sol maravilhoso em frente ao lago. Se você trazer o seu barco, há uma marina perto do lançamento. Por favor, não deixar o barco amarrado no cais, por favor use a âncora amarração ou puxar o barco para fora ou alugar um deslizamento dia na marina. (O lago fica difícil às vezes.) The location of the house on the lake was beautiful and the view as well as the layout of the back yard were very nice. The house is subpar. I expected a lot better for a one week rental costing over $4000. The home is very outdated, especially the bathrooms. The sliding doors do not work very well at all, especially the screens. There was only one container for garbage in the garage and for a house that holds 12 people, this was far from being adequate. We had garbage piled up in bags in the garage. The TV is very small for such a large great room. The dock is nice but has no cleats at all to tie off a boat or jetski, rendering it basically useless (we ended up laying on the dock and reaching underneath to temporarily moor our rented Tri-toon while boarding and unloading. They provide a mooring ball, however the ball does not hold the boat in position (it moves), so one morning we woke up to find our boat motor banging against the dock. We had to move the mooring ball (heavy concrete in 5 feet of water) several times. If you want to have a boat, I suggest you find a better setup. The sprinkler system was always on spraying the entire backyard with water. There were no instructions for this, but we figured out how to unplug the pump that takes water from the lake to shut this off (would have been nice if the instructions for the house informed us of this situation). As for the lake, it is very beautiful as advertised. However we found the water temperature (1st week of August) to be extremely cold and this put a major damper on our planned water activities. The weather did not cooperate, and we did read that Torch Lake is cold - but I wanted to be sure to let people know it is extremely cold - like 60 degrees. The lake is also very "choppy" and wavy, it was not conducive to tubing, and slow dinner cruises on the boat. We did not have any issues with the owners/rental agency, they were courteous and timely with us. We never contacted them during our week long stay and they never showed up or contacted us, we enjoyed the privacy. We did get charged for a ripped screen, but that was fair given our dog ran through it! The charge was reasonable and our security deposit was refunded promptly. Overall, the property and yard were very nice, but the house needs significant updates at this price point.

Disrepair and a Roach - Part 1

Due to the spacing allowed by VRBO, my review is in three parts.

Third year renting this house – previous review is HEAVEN below. The first year was great. Last year, we notified the property manager about issues; she said they would be addressed. This summer, we saw a huge decline. She says the owner had been told previously about these issues; we were told “maintenance issues below have been shared with the owner and will be again. I don't know what else I can do but impress upon him how this feedback can impact his rentals.” Our visit ended with a visit from a roach.

Upon arrival, a tree had fallen on the driveway. Since the house is supposedly booked solid all summer, I’m confused how this was not discovered by the cleaning crew that was supposed to be at the house Sunday morning in the hours before our arrival. The counter, dining areas and floors were dirty with lots of dead bugs upon our arrival. I cleaned up the mess left behind by the last renters before the rest of the family arrived. We dealt with a terrible bug problem all week. I get it – you’re on a lake, there are lots of bugs… but the lack of a working screen door exacerbated the issue. We endured this all week, having to clean the kitchen counters every morning of dozens of dead bugs.

The screen doors in the house are in extreme disrepair – they don’t lock and the screens are torn. My brother and his wife did not bring their toddler this year because they were concerned he might walk out too easily. We had mentioned this issue last July and I see another renter in August 2015 wrote it on VRBO. That is not safe and actually a code violation. Initially, I used Scotch tape to fix it; the property manager brought out a roll of duct tape which was better. But duct taping screens is neither ideal nor acceptable.

Again this year, the front door was completely unusable. The door near the lockbox had to be finessed to get it open. The light in front of the house was out, so when we needed a light outdoors, we had to use the light on the detached shed. Many handles in the kitchen (and one on the bottom dresser drawer in the southeast bedroom) come right off.

Resposta do proprietário: First: note is that this is the THIRD year this family rented the house – last year they posted this review – which certainly contradicts a lot of what they posted this year: Torch Lake was a destination we discussed for several years, and finally visited 4 years ago. This was the second year we stayed at this particular home, and we hope to make it there every year. We have a large party - 10 of us with ages ranging from 74 (my father) to 5 months. We needed a house that allows for privacy with a great "commons area" - this lay-out is perfect!!! We had all the amenities of home... Plus some great extras (a sauna?!) The location - just a few miles from Bellaire's amazing restaurants and a grocer to the east, Dockside and DeWitt's Marina to the south, make it easy to get necessities quickly. The lake is second to none - crystal clear, serene, beautiful. You haven't seen a sunset as amazing as a Torch Lake sunset!!! We already plan a visit in 2016! Second: Trees fall unexpectedly – It must have happened sometime between the cleaning crew leaving and their arrival. When they called we sent someone out immediately to remove the tree and debris. The house had just been cleaned and prepped so I think the dirty floors and excessive bugs is an exaggeration – and IF there was a roach, it must have come in with a guest. The screen doors take quite a beating all summer and we are pet friendly which can play havoc with screen doors! We continue to rescreen between renters, but during the week it’s not practical as the guests – including this one – don’t want to have a slider with no screen for any of the days they are in the house! Third: We were very disappointed to see this review. We want our guests to be happy and in this case the owner offered to compensate them for the inconvenience but the guest asked for more money than offered or they would write a bad review. We have made it a practice to refuse this tactic by guests that demand an unreasonable amount of compensation because they threaten to write a bad review on the property. While there are some maintenance issues – and there always are in our waterfront homes by the end of the season – we felt that this guest was attempting the "extort for review process." This house is priced at a very reasonable rate for a 4 bedroom on 100 ft of lakefront on Torch Lake. Many Torch Lake homes rent for significantly more than this home, we believe we offer a nice, clean, large home that is a good value.

Serenity

We enjoyed the peace and quiet. Beautiful view of the lake. House was well equipped and maintained. The sauna was so relaxing! Ample room throughout the house and garage. Enjoyed sunsets while sitting on the bench on the dock. Also enjoyed nightly campfires under the stars. We enjoyed our stay and so did our pet!

Perfect Location!

We have stayed at this Torch Lake rental for 5 years every August and love it! Two families share this space and the size and layout works great for us. We have never experienced a bug or rodent problem as noted by previous guests. If any issue arose the management has quickly addressed them. There was a quirky electrical issue this past summer but I am sure it will be fixed for future guests. The owner is committed to making sure problems are addressed and updates are completed as he is able. We greatly appreciated the new appliances and gas grill this summer! We have vacationed at another Torch property and Lake Michigan over the last 20 years but this is our favorite property. The deck out back, proximity to the water and dock make for wonderful family time on the lake. It's not a beach for wading with sand but I don't expect that on Torch. We bring kayaks and floats and its great fun. Having stayed on the other side of Torch this location is perfect with its proximity to Alden (After Loon Delight - amazing cinnamon rolls), Bellaire (Mocha Coffee and Shorts Brewery) Dockside, grocery stores and the new Torch Lake Winery! When spring arrives in MI I dream of getting back to our to our annual Torch Lake vacation rental! Obviously I would recommend this property.

Enjoyable Summer Vacation

I was extremely pleased with our stay at this house. We had two families with four kids. The separation between master bedrooms was perfect to accommodate both families privacy when needed. Loved the location on the lake that we daily took advantage of with our boat. We definitely would seek out this property again for next year.
