This beach house has a funky atmosphere just made for FUN in the SUN! There is a quirky rainforest mural decor in the Great Room painted by a famous local artist. Banquet-size dining table makes for wonderful feasts. Tile floors and ceiling fans add to the island ambiance. Cathedral ceilings in Great Room and King Bedroom. Accents of pecky-cypress wood lend an authentic Old Florida flavor. Carlouel residential neighborhood is upscale, quiet and dog-friendly. Bring your friendly pet dog on the beach on a 6 ft. leash. Stroll the shoreline north to Caladesi Island State Park!

Deck & Patio overlook dunes, palms, water and fabulous sunsets! Private sunbathing. Sip your favorite tropical drink as you watch the sun sink into the sea at days end. Grill dinner outdoors. Life is good in sunny Florida!

All nearby activities include fishing, boating, dinner cruises, parasailing, shopping and fine or casual dining. Walk 3 blocks to catch the beach trolley. Community swimming pool is seasonal (small fee). PIER 60 is a mile+ south and is where the action is at sundown--live music, large playground, arts & crafts vendors. Marina is across the street from Pier 60 and every type of boat ride is available--even a pirate ship! This home is for those seeking wonderful times with friends & family, nature-lovers and for those who seek relaxation and fun. Awesome house and location

We had a great time doing our stay. We loved the architecture style and its unique features. The home accommodated our group size perfectly. Walk from the house to the beach was easy and we had plenty of room and privacy at this area of the beach. Shells and sand dollars were abundant and we even saw some marine life. Host was very informative, responsive and helpful. We will definitely come back again!

The location to the beach was the best part of staying at the house.

The house itself is interesting as it is old and has had many additions over the years. The water line broke the first night we were there so the whole experience was a patchwork of trying to make the situation work for us. The host didn’t grasp how much money we saved her and the house from being destroyed by finding and then cutting off the water line at one o’clock in the morning. It was a hassle but we got through it with another host owned property across the street. The beach was beautiful and we enjoyed being together despite the hiccups.

Family Vacation

We stayed at this location for a family vacation. The weather could not have been more perfect! The house was very clean upon arrival, with beach towels ready to go at the back door. The beach was fabulous! Lots of people walking the beach, but lots of space to set up for the day. Beach chairs and toys were provided at the house which was a nice bonus. My kids used the boogie boards just about every day. We even saw dolphins during one of our days out there. Traffic in and out of the area was terrible some days - popular area + spring break - only so much you can do about that. Host was very responsive to text messages. We needed the code for the key when we arrived after a long day of travel. Got it immediately upon saying we had arrived. Overall this was a great place to stay and the convenience of being able to make meals and spread out a bit at the end of the day was great. We never missed a sunset :)

More of a Home not a Rental

The past reviews are pretty much accurate. This home is a much older home with no updates to the design. It was a cabana turned into a place of residence. Several corkie design features not normal to a rental home. Beds were very comforable. Living room and large eating table was great. Comfortable couches for everyone to relax on and day bed for kids to sleep on or hang out. Lots of windows to see the outside dune area and plenty of sunlight. Although this house is beachfront. There is no clear view of the water or the beach from the house, the dune area is quiet a long, very soft sandy, catcus walk to get to the beach. This was one of our biggest disappointment in the rental. Once you finally get to the beach it is very beautiful and very, very private. The bathrooms, toliets, shower stalls, and sinks need much updating. The lack of updates gives you a feeling of the bathrooms feeling dingy. This is a family home and not so much a rental property style home.

The beach has been ranked #ONE Best City Beach and connects to CALADESI ISLAND STATE PARK which was ranked #ONE Best Beach in America, 2008. The beach houses sit in a quiet, residential neighborhood which is between these two amazing places--you get all the 'action' and the 'beauty of a natural environment.' The Gulf of Mexico has beautiful clear water, gentle surf, gradual sloping bottom and the beach is wide with silky-soft white sand. There is a bench on the beach which says it all, 'HEAVEN ON EARTH' and I couldn't agree more!
