This two bedroom condo in the Mountainside area is one of the most luxurious and appealing places to stay at Jiminy Peak. It is wonderfully decorated and lovingly maintained in every detail. It is one-story on the upper level, within walking distance of the ski lifts, town square, pool and tennis courts with a locking ski closet just outside the front door.
The kitchen has just been updated and fully equipped with top-of-the-line stainless steel appliances and granite countertops. It's a true chef's kitchen, perfect for after ski or before Tanglewood. There is an eat-in counter for casual meals and a dining table that can easily accommodate eight people.
My wife has dubbed our Jiminy Peak home “the Treehouse,” after the rear deck that sits amidst some beautiful big pines. The deck is a cool oasis in the summer, and in winter the snow on the pines provides a beautiful Currier and Ives scene out the sliding patio doors.
The living room is inviting and airy with a vaulted ceiling, fireplace, overhead fan and plenty of light - very cozy in the winter, and with the double screen doors, a great spot for cool summer mornings. The room has a large screen internet ready TV, DVD, and there is WiFi throughout.
The master bedroom is large and features a very comfortable king-sized bed, TV and DVD. The ensuite bathroom was just re-done with granite vanity tops - a very crisp and modern look with a deep tub for soaking after a day on the slopes. The second bedroom, also quite large, has two twin beds which can be converted to a queen, a TV and DVD, and its own full remodeled bathroom. There is a built-in washer-drier.
The couch in the living room also folds out to a queen, so the house can accommodate six guests in privacy and comfort.
Our family has enjoyed so many wonderful years here. With night skiing available, my son and his friends were able to arrive after school on Friday, walk to the lifts and enjoy the mountain fun Friday night, plus Saturday and Sunday. In fact, our son ended up as a nationally ranked snowboarder, and it all began right here.
