Due to its central location, Alf is an ideal starting point for excursions, e.g. B. in the Roman city of Trier, Luxembourg City or gemstone metropolis Idar-Oberstein. In the immediate vicinity are the health resorts such as Bad-Bertrich and Traben-Trabach with their attractive thermal baths. There is a bakery and butcher's shop on site. Supermarkets are 3 and 5 km away. Local restaurants include a restaurant, two pizzerias and an ice cream parlor, as well as an ostrich and wine bar. There are fresh rolls in a bakery on the Moselle.
