My wife, Luisa, and I had 9 days and nights of bliss in Albuquerque! The accommodations were beautiful, very clean, and very well appointed. The view of Sandia peak from the backyard was without compare! The location was perfect and gave us easy access to the various attractions of Albuquerque and Santa Fe as well as restaurants, grocery stores and other amenities. Perhaps the most delightful part of our stay was meeting and talking with our hosts, Bev and Phil. They are very bright and engaging hosts and went way out of their way to make sure that we were comfortable. Bev is also a wealth of information about the area and its many cultural, historic, and natural features. Its the perfect house to getaway for a couple. My husband and I have been staying here for years. We are big fans of the hiking in Albuquerque and the wonderful weather to be outside all year long. The house is perfectly set up for our long stays to cook and rest. Great amenities and the owners are the best hosts to make you feel welcome.
From the view of the mountain during the day to experiencing the stars at night, we thoroughly enjoyed our time in this "home away from home." We prepared dinners with a kitchen that is the best stocked we've ever encountered in a VRBO, down to a dozen gourmet spices available, plus fresh herbs grown and available for picking in the backyard. We had dinners most nights on the patio with our family. One night I made a mistake and threw something in the garbage disposal that I shouldn't have. Beverly and Phil responded immediately to my text. They came by twice to correct the problem, and never made me feel bad for what may have dismayed another. Beverly and Phil are the most gracious of all the hosts we have ever met in VRBO's. The home is joyfully and thoughtfully decorated, and we will happily return in a second. Having stayed at other homes in the area, we would definitely rate this one the best for view, privacy, access to major highways, grocery shopping, and wonderfully inviting hosts. Book it today!
I...love...this house. Beverly and the Colonel have anticipated everything one could possibly need. The kitchen, bedrooms, bath, I lacked for nothing. My daughter, whom I was visiting, was just blown away by the home. It may seem remote but the home is close to grocery stores and restaurants. I used Uber the whole time I was there and it was no problem. There are two bedrooms and two baths. The master has an emperor size bed. The view from the couch in the living room never gets old. And if you like Woody Allen I left three Woody Allen books in the shelves because they weren't what I thought they were when I bought them. I give Beverly and the Colonel's house my highest rating, ten thumbs up.
Our family has rented many vacation homes. I can easily attest that this was our BEST rental experience on EVERY level!
Firstly, Beverly and Phil are gracious hosts. They really care about their guests, and it is reflected through their immaculate attention to detail.
We based our initial search by location. The pictures of the home were outstanding and the reviews were ALL 5 star. The price listed for a weekly rental was entirely fair.
We placed a request to stay at the residence and were immediately contacted (literally a few hours later) by Beverly. She was extremely prompt and very accommodating. She worked carefully to meet our scheduling needs.
Before our stay, Beverly contacted us several times with ideas for the best Albuquerque had to offer. She made sure to inquire about our vacation expectations, and she prepared her home accordingly.
When we arrived, we were greeted by Beverly and Phil and were personally shown the property and its benefits. The home was actually MORE beautiful than the photographs, as they had installed lovely upgrades and had updated the interior decor. Beverly even created a gift basket with New Mexican food and gift items, as well as a guide to Albuquerque itself. Amazing!
Some of our favorite aspects about this property included: 1. The location and privacy of the lot. 2. The open floor plan with picturesque views from every room. 3. The outstanding view of the Sandia Mountains from the backyard. We daily dined & relaxed on the covered porch while enjoying the nature that completely surrounded us.
The interior of the home was completely Southwest and very cozy. Every detail was in place. I appreciated the FULLY stocked kitchen, the memory foam mattress with silky sheets (in BOTH rooms), plentiful bath towels and dispensers in each bathroom shower complete with shampoo/soap. There wasn't anything that we needed that wasn't already in place. There was an ample amount reading materials, and even a Bose stereo to play relaxing music throughout the home.
The Sandia peak tramway was about a 5 minute drive from the property, and we enjoyed watching the tram cars ascending and descending the mountain. Beverly assisted us with attaining tickets for ourselves.
What more can be said?!? I would recommend to stop your search and book this home immediately. You'll never find another rental property or owners of this caliber.

Our stay could not have been more wonderful. The house is lovely and perfectly located for great views of the Sandia Mountains out the enormous back windows and of the Rio Grande Valley and city of Albuquerque out the front windows. Walks through interesting neighborhoods as well as hikes to the mountain can be accessed right out the back and front doors. The house is very well equipped, and the kitchen has every pot, pan, and utensil you could possibly want. Bev and Phil are wonderful hosts and are most attentive to ensure a pleasant stay.
