Beautiful spacious house with spectacular ocean views

Our family enjoyed the spacious, well-maintained house. We had 7 adults and one infant and fit in very comfortably.

We cooked most of our meals at the house in the well-equipped kitchen.

We used the bicycles and golf cart provided to get around most of the time.

We liked the beach club gym and pool and the nearby state park with lighthouse.

The owners made an extra effort to deal with the satellite TV company, when the company said they could not send a technician until the end of the week.

Would definitely recommend the house to families or groups who care about the quality of the accommodations.

An island jewel

We vacation on Fripp several times a year and found this property to be absolutely beautiful - house and setting are exactly as described. Beautiful house right on the ocean with unbelievable views. The owner was great to work with, very responsive, very helpful. We especially appreciated that he was proactive in addressing an issue with the golf cart and took care of the problem before we ever arrived, just calling to make us aware and letting us know it was resolved. He also checked with us a few days after we arrived to make sure everything was okay. We enjoyed our stay immensely and hope to return next year. Thank you, Zaven!

Simply The Best

This place is the real deal! We have two families of four that have been vacationing up and down the NC/SC coast for years now. Fripp Island has become our favorite and this house is now our favorite on Fripp. Sharp decoration, comfortable bedrooms/baths, and a great kitchen made our time inside great. The gas grill/kitchen handled all our dinners with no problem (we cooked fresh seafood almost every night) - nice that the grill it is right outside the kitchen door. BTW, when you are inside you feel like you are on a cruise - all you see is water out the windows. The garage worked perfectly - we had three golf carts lined up where we could keep them charged and there is plenty of room to store chairs/fishing gear/coolers/etc with a hose outside for rinsing everything off. Outside is fantastic - great wrap around deck that always has a breeze and plenty of room in the grass for a game of cornhole or bocce. There is an empty lot next door so you have an unobstructed view and total privacy. The fishing was great right off the seawall - everybody caught fish and we even had a couple big enough to eat! The water is the best part - it is literally feet from the house and when sitting on the deck it is right below you -- it is fun to just sit back and watch the tides come in and out and yes we saw plenty of dolphins. At night you can sit on the deck and just listen to the water lap up against the seawall - very relaxing for sure. In addition, we liked being on the north end of the island off of the main strip - all that is just a golf cart ride away including your favorite beach access. The last point is that we really enjoyed working with the owner - he was very responsive answering all our questions leading up to our week and we had no problems at all with the house during our vacation. We loved this place so much we are already booked for 2015!

Resposta do proprietário: I do want to thank you and your family for staying in our left it in grate shape and it was very easy for the housekeeping to have it all ready for the next guest. We try our best to keep this house in the best shape that we can. It is hard to work on it in the summer since it is rented almost every week. We will do some minor renovations in the fall when it is the slow time and have it tip top again for next summer. Room with a view and a rip off

First of all the place has exceptional views and layout...that stated- the owner seems bent on taking some or all of your deposit. He cashes the security deposit check right away and is very capricious in what HE believes you should get back. Got the feeling that he would like renters to fix things that all of us homeowners have to deal with daily or what most call normal wear and tear. Quick snapshot of what I mean- we rented for a week with another family. While we know things are not perfect when you rent and I can give you a laundry list of things that are in need of work at this home- I will not....I will just let you know how we were treated on this one. On our last night we cooked in- hard to do since the stove does not have any gas pressure. I was much more careful than at home- nothing in the garbage disposal- all trash can as I just don't want any hassle when I vacation (real life has hassle- this time has to be relaxed). That stated- on checkout we had put pre-rinsed dishes in the NON garbage disposal side of the sink...the other side has the normal vented drain to prevent anything from going down (we never used this side of the sink as we ate out most nights thanks to the awful gas range that could not heat water). The next morning we filled the NON disposal side of the sink with water and soaked the rinsed dishes so we could follow instruction for check out and clean any dishes. After loading the dishwasher the sink would not drain...we called the owner who went into defense mode and said you can't put "stuff" in the disposal it will clog- NO DUH...he did not care that it was the other side of the sink. We notified him of the problem and moved on...he did not say a word or communicate with us but then took $300 of our deposit check for some plumbing work without even notifying us????? I tried to email him to talk about this with FACTS about how this deep clog could not be our fault and what they had found as the root cause to no avail...even tried the plumber to see what they found (If they retrieved something that was my fault- so be it... remember I am the one that called him to tell him HIS SINK had an issue). He did not have the professionalism to ever tell us he was taking deposit money or follow up with us at all. I can tell you that in all my years of home ownership...I have never had to even call a plumber. This place is NOT WORTH THE HASSLE OR this guy...he is flat our rude and goes silent when you have questions.

Resposta do proprietário: I was disappointed to see this review for two reasons: to misconstrue the owner is only interested in "keeping your deposit" is absurd. This property has never had anything but stellar reviews and renters that continually come back year after year - to make it sound like the owner doesn't care about the renters and their feed back is unfair. Secondly, there was never any attempt to speak to me (by telephone or email) regarding the issues that this renter had. I am sorry that this renter had a "problem with the plumbing"; but the system receives an annual clean out every year before rental season; this being said it would seem highly unlikely, that without something clogging the system, it would just clog up at the last minute of their stay. One thing NOT discussed with the renter was the fact that they were over an hour late leaving the property thus leaving the property owner to pay extra for the cleaning crew to "wait" for the renters to leave and then deal with the more than usual disarray within the house. These renters did receive security deposit back - minus the plumbing fee but the homeowner did NOT withhold any security deposit for the extra time needed for the cleaning crew or the garage door that would not close. For future reference Fripp island has no natural gas lines - if you have a gas range within any home on Fripp it is PROPANE; propane has a lower temperature than natural gas thus cooking/boiling time will take alittle longer than usual if someone is not familiar with propane gas. Obviously, this is really NOT an issue. Again, I am always open to discussion of any issue found within the house and appreciate actual contact with anything that the renter is concerned about.

Gorgeous and Comfortable

The house is even nicer in person than what the pictures depict. The large windows and wrap around decks are wonderful. I would recommend this house without hesitation. I wish we could have stayed longer.

Love this place!!

Love this place! Have come 3 years in a row. The home, the view and the sea is just as enchanting each time I come. The house is, and has everything you could wish for in a seaside retreat! The owner is great to work with. When you find a jewel like this you will definately want to come back. I will again! Thank you for sharing your beautiful home with us Zaven!
