And offers an inexpensive family vacation with mountain views of the Hohen Bogen. The small mountain village Rittsteig has about 500Einwohner and is 700 meters above sea level.

Two shops and two restaurants with good hearty meals are available in town. Immediately on the outskirts is the cross-country center Rittsteig with trails to the Czech Republic. The winter sports area "Am Hohen Bogen" is only five kilometers away and has the longest double chair of the Bavarian Forest. Due to continuous snow-making facilities on the downhill course, alpine skiing is guaranteed throughout the winter.
