Exactly as advertised, the Arthouse was found to be well maintained and nicely updated, with good amenities and a comfortable interior; a great stay for five adults. Its convenience to the T Orange line (Stony Brook Station) is perfect for travelling to downtown and especially for Boston marathoners looking for quick and easy transport to the Boston Common buses (Chinatown station) and back home at the end of the race (Back Bay station). The Jamaica Plan neighborhood is safe, family friendly with a fine selection of local cafes/restaurants and local groceries. Owner Christine was great and easy to reach and provided us with local recommendations making our visit truly enjoyable. Definitely would recommend this property to others and would stay here again.
We were very pleased with our stay. The Arthouse was comfortable, well appointed, and well taken care of. Christine was easy to work with and checked in with us soon after we arrived. She also responded quickly to inquiries. We would be happy to stay there again.
The Arthouse was a nice clean place to rent for a couple days. Very easy walk to subway and close to the Brewery, which we toured. Overall I would highly recommend this place to rent while you tour Boston. Christine was very helpful with any questions we had and her response was within minutes. A must stay!
Clean, spacious, comfortable, easy parking on the street and great location for us. Christine was easy to work with and prompt with her replies. We would rent here again.

Location is good - close to public transport and a short walk to a reasonable restaurant. The area felt OK too. Wardrobe space is good and the washer and dryer are useful. The flat's a good size and it's nice to have outside space - even with a "resident" raccoon!
We noticed the first review is 2009 - presumably this is when the very good photographs were taken. The overall impression of the dingy kitchen/dining/living room is of slightly seedy, student-type accommodation. The kitchen sink plug hole was stained brown and didn't have a plug: no washing-up bowl or dishwasher so eating-in was impossible. The hob is marked, the oven and trays need a proper clean. (Not sure if the ancient-looking cooker would be legal in English rented accommodation.) The saute pan has a wobbly handle and the non-stick layer is long gone. Extractor only operates at full capacity and we couldn't get the light to work. We're not tall so we couldn't use the microwave on top of the fridge/freezer. No vacuum cleaner or dustpan and brush, no clothes airer. (Not all fabrics benefit from a tumble dryer!)
The bathroom is adequate but also in dire need of a deep clean. A washbasin plug would have been useful!
The beds were made-up atrociously. We initially thought that the ill-fitting linen hadn't been changed but then we realised that the creased sheets are probably taken out of the dryer and put straight back on the beds. We detest sleeping with a top sheet under a duvet but it was either that or wash the duvet covers as we couldn't be sure they'd been laundered. The bedrooms are sparsely furnished, i.e. no chests of drawers or reading lamps (there's a floor lamp in one room and a table lamp in the other).
The "garden" (backyard) is in a very sorry state, covered in old dead leaves but the weeds are doing very well - not much like the photographs. Moss on the paving stones, the odd pile of junk, the poor condition of the rickety fold-up chairs and tiny table just add to the general air of neglect.
We didn't see any "art" in the "Arthouse" unless a few framed prints and photographs constitute "art".
Apparently guests are "fined" for certain transgressions. One mustn't fail to empty the bins, wash the bed linen/towels, wash-up (no mention of how!), etc.
The lack of facilities resulted in us having to eat out all of the time and thus a very expensive stay indeed. Overall we were very, very disappointed.
We had a very nice time in Boston during a Harvard Med School ceremony. The location was easy access to the train and close to the Med School, quick trip by Uber. The Jamaica Plains neighborhood was very nice! The local coffee shop and pizza place were great. The Athouse was perfect for 4 of us. Thank you!
