Tranquil Retreat on Camelback Mountain.

The house is situated minutes from Camelback water park and is a short drive to I80 and Rt 611. (main thoroughfare). The house has just been freshly renovated. Fresh paint and tags still on furniture. Brand new, space age looking washer and dryer. Brand new couches (very comfortable) and Sony Bravia flat screen. Kitchen was full size and comfy.

There are no bedrooms on the main (entrance) floor. When you enter the house, you are in the kitchen with stairs to the right leading up to a loft bedroom with a full bath. My 15 year old loved it. Off the living room are stairs leading down to 2 bedrooms and another full bath. First bedroom had a king size bed and the other had a queen and a twin. Then...there's another flight of steps that lead down to the last bedroom. I don't remember how big the bed was but all the linens seemed to be brand new. There's also a door off the bedroom that leads outside to the parking area. Overall, the house is beautiful. Just a word of caution...there's a lot of steps to navigate. If you're in the bedroom 2 flights down, you will always need to go up one flight to hit the bathroom and two flights to get to the main floor. I stayed down there...but every time I came up to the main floor to do something, if I left something in the my bedroom, it was 2 flights down, retrieve item, and two flights back up. Send a healthy legged individual down there. It's a great workout though! I would absolutely recommend this house based on it's cleanliness, central location, and the owner, Ellen, was an absolute dream to deal with and provided superb "customer service". Thank you Ellen!!

Awesome very nicely located property

We had good time at this property. It has 4 bedrooms that supported our group of 10 with 4 kids. Lots of bedsheets and linens and everything nicely kept. WiFi service is good and helped us plan our activities each day.

The place is walkable distance to camelback adventures and with in minutes to the Shopping mall, which is very convenient. The security with gated access and overall neighborhood maintenance is good.

Only thing I would say is that 2 full bathrooms for 10 folks needed little co-ordination as we ran out of Hot water at times and we had to plan around it.

Owner refuses to return security deposit

The address in the booklet is incorrect, we spond some time trying to find the place, the owner did not give correct address for google maps; when we arrived - beds wasn't made, finally we found some sheets. One chair have broken leg, half of the light bulbs was bnot working (have to drive to buy some and installed it myself). One room had broken glass on the floor and my son cut his leg (then I cut my leg as well while trying to pick up these pieces). Then next morning some hammers started to bang on the walls: apparently house was under renovation and owner did nto mentioned it. She also failed to mention what pool was actually closed every second day so we wasn;t able to use it when we wanted.

We did not complaied about anything.

The next mornign after we checked in, cleaning lady arrived, said "I came to clean the house and make the beds, I was told by owner what you coming today", since we already checked in, we said "thank you, never mind, we made beds and found glass pieses on the carpet", She said " sorry" and left.

When we checked out, we cleaned the house, washed all dishes in dishwasher except 2 or 3, I was washing them in the moment cleaning lady arrived. She smiled, said "don't worry we will wash these dishes, we are here to clean the house (and they are paid for it)"

Later the owner refuses to return deposit. I tried to call her for 2 weeks and send many e-mails. Eventually she replied said "you broke the glass in tv cabinet (which is not true) and left food on the floor (which is not true and we have pictures of clean house before we left), she said about "discusting food" in the fridge thought we stayed only for 3 days and no possible way any food could decay in the fridge (not to mention what we olny ate pizza and there was no leftovers)

Anyway, after all these claims she said she will not willing to refund Huge deposit for supposely broken glass in the TV cabinet!!!

This house is pretty good, but

1. you need to pay for the cleaning lady plus vacuum it yourself, spotless,

2. you need to bring your own sheets and made beds yourself,

3. you need to wear slippers because you may step on the glass and

4. you need to be ready to wake up at 7:00 am because some construction workers will bang your walls with hammers whole day

And on top of that, you owner will say bad things about you and you will not receive your security deposit.

I have rented vacation homes for 31 years and this is only the second time I have had to keep for expenses caused by a guest to make my property rentable for future guest that I expect to supply clean an a place that I am proud to own . this guest did not have the correct address he informed me that he was not going to read all the paper work I could just tell him what he needed to know The lease and a letter with it gives him address lock box codes wifi and procedure for entering a gated community.I heard from him approx 10:o clock on the night of his arrival he was lost did not have correct address I do not know where he found the address he was using. he hung up the phone on me when I was trying to help him eventually he got to the house and had a problem with the lock box due to not reading instructions the next morning he had a problem with wifi code went over it with him he got on . The next I heard from him was the day he was checking out he called and said he was leaving a few dishes in the sink I explained he needs to leave the property as per instruction or he would forfit his security if the housekeeping had to do extra work or there were any other issues. My house keeping staff did arrive while he was still there. Due to the filth that could not be left to be passed on to my next guest they said they would take care of what they should have done I got e mail saying due unsanitry conditions the had to remove all dishes utensils and make the house to where next guest were comfortable and had clean dishes pots and pans etc excessive dirt. I pride myself and the people I hire to have you my future guest with the best that I can supply for you I will sign off by saying you do not need to bring linens the property will be ready for you and welcome

Beautiful Home in the Poconos

We had a great time while staying at this beautiful home at Camelback. The home is bigger than most in the Village, and this home was spotless when we arrived. It had everything we needed for a family with 5 young boys. The owner was great to work with - she patiently helped us through some booking difficulties with homeaway.com, and she let us check-out late on our departure day as she had no other renters coming in.

I would highly recommend this rental to any family or large group looking to get away to the Camelback area.

Would definitely book again

Overall the trip was great, the only issue was that the couch in the living room ended up not being a pull out bed as stated in the pictures. Owner was easily reachable via telephone and accommodations were swiftly made for the inconvenience. Other then that there were no issues at all, would have gotten 5 stars but the couch was not a pull out bed. Great weekend.
