Poggelow Castle was built in 1848 in the English Tudor style according to the plans of the architect Friedrich Hitzig, a student of Schinkel, and was formerly owned by the famous von Bassewitz family. In the years from 1996 to 2004 it was extensively restored and in 2015 the entire facade was restored. Today, the castle is a listed building and provides the ideal setting for a sophisticated vacation in the countryside or for celebrations of all kinds.

From the castle terrace and balcony you have a view of a small lake. Up to 20 people will find enough space in a total of 7 comfortably furnished apartments, each equipped with its own kitchen or kitchenette. Therefore, the castle is ideal for group trips or a vacation with the extended family. On the lower floor there is a large dining room, which can be used for celebrations or meetings. In the basement you can use, among others, sauna, solarium and fitness room. Furthermore, there is a billiard room, a large covered terrace and a heated/covered swimming pool of 32 m² on the property. Here you can enjoy your vacation with the extended family.

The accommodation is ideal as a wedding venue. Celebrate your own fairy tale wedding here in the castle. For the church wedding, a church in Jördenstorf is at your disposal. Afterwards you can enjoy your wedding celebration in a private setting.

In 2017, renovation work was carried out in the fitness and billiards room.

There is a small catamaran available on the castle pond. This is firmly anchored and can accommodate up to 8 people, who can drink your coffee here on comfortable garden furniture or simply enjoy the sun.

The castle is rented only as a unit.

Poggelow is located on the northern edge of Mecklenburg Switzerland in a rural idyll, surrounded by forest and fields - ideal for a ride. Bring your four-legged friend with you! There is room for up to 4 horses in the horse shelter at the castle. The castle is very easy to reach via the freeways A19 and A20. From Hamburg or Berlin the journey takes about 2.5 hours. To the Baltic Sea coast it is about an hour by car.

Costs for energy/oil/water are to be paid on site according to consumption. For this, a down payment is to be made upon arrival. Plus final cleaning also to be paid on site. Deposit youth groups 2.000 EUR.

Please note that: Consumption costs are not included in the room rate and will be charged according to guest use within three weeks after check-out. Up to two pets are allowed.
