Quaint cabin in a beautiful part of NC! The best is when we met Mr. Pickery, the cabins owner. Definitely revisit.
My 2 girlfriends and I stayed in the cabin for a weekend getaway and it was fantastic. The entire grounds we're great by far the best place to stay anywhere around Black Mountain. It's extremely clean and modernized even though the original logs are from 1814. The entire place is dog friendly which is fantastic. I didn't get to bring my dogs on this trip but will gladly bring them next time. The owners were very nice and the grounds were very beautiful. Going back again as soon as I have time. I would give this place a 10!
This was an ideal experience for my daughters and I. The cabin was just as pictured and exceeded our expectations in every way. The owner and staff made sure that all of our needs were met but also made us feel like we were with long-time friends. The warmth of the whole experience was unmatched and we can't wait to return. It will become a tradition for my daughters and I...all three of us fell in love with the cabin, it's location, and it's caretakers. Thank you for giving Clara, Mariana and I an experience we will always remember!
My wife and I wanted a place to stay within 20 minutes of Asheville. We fell in love with the look of the rustic outside of the cabin, but with all of the modern luxuries inside such as electricity, AC, bathroom with shower. Pisgah Brewery is only a mile or two away. The spiral stairs are not a problem unless you have mobility issues. Although there's not a view of the mountains, the view and sounds of the woods puts you in the middle of nature. This was great for a romantic getaway to celebrate our anniversary. We are planning on bringing the kids on our next family trip to Asheville.
My 17 year old son and I just stayed in this cabin as a jumping off point to college visits and a couple of kayak runs of the Green River (him, not me)! This was just the right middle point and gave us a cozy place on a beautiful grounds.
The hammock swing on the front porch was a great place to enjoy a cup of coffee. I enjoyed the camp singing from the camp next door... not loud enough to really hear inside but outside I was able to feel part of the community. Even took some time to strum some of my own Appalachian tunes on my guitar. The perfect setting.
The cabin was in great condition and it's nice to know it has a rich history.
George checked in on us and made sure we had a great trip.
We have stayed at the cabin and other rentals on the property and always had a great time. We have spent the last 6 summers at Lake Eden and enjoyed it immensely. The rentals are pet-friendly and our old german shepherd used love hanging out with other Lake Eden dogs. When it snowed one winter the owners made sure we had enough firewood for the stove. The location is perfect as it is close enough to Black Mountain and a 20 minute drive to Asheville. The grounds are perfect for running or taking a long walk. If you are a cyclist, it is a 13 mile ride to the Blue Ridge Parkway, or a 5 mile ride to Route 9 and an even shorter ride to Downtown Black Mountain. The whole area is cycling heaven and Asheville is an artists' playground. Lake Eden is perfectly situated to enjoy everything.
Black Mountain (5 minutos), Asheville (20 min), Blue Ridge Parkway, Biltmore Estate, Cherokee e aventuras ao ar livre abundam (caminhadas, rafting, mountain bike, escalada, piqueniques, etc).
