My time here was much really needed. The owner was always accommodating and responsive. I arrived after 1am and getting was not a problem at all. I loved the location as it gave me access to so many beaches and provided peace and quiet once I returned for the evening. I would absolutely recommend this property to anyone interested.
the lay out of the villa is beautiful,all of the appliances were working and up to date.the furniture was of good taste and the entire place was immaculate.The owner was extremely kind and courteous.Im looking forward to going back next year.
This was my very first time renting a property through VRBO (or from any other rent from owner company or individual for that matter). I was delighted how smoothly the entire experience went from finding a property, to booking property, to check-in/check-out. I found the owner helpful, kind, and quick when responding to my emails and phone calls. As you can imagine, being a new renter I had a million questions! The property was just as pristine and beautiful as the owner had advertised. It was as though I were walking into a model home. Every room of the house looked brand new (furnishings, carpet, paint, fixtures) and every room (kitchen, bathrooms, laundry room, garage) sparkled and shined! The house/neighborhood were VERY QUIET and neighbors friendly. The AC system worked great on the hot/humid summer beach days. So good in fact, I had to turn to thermostat "UP" because I was too cold. Though I opted not to cook while there (so many restaurants close by), I checked out kitchen for future stays and it looked equipped with all essentials you would need to prepare a meal as well as a deck of cards and chess board. All appliances sparkled and shined, there were two high chairs if needed set up in the eat-in kitchen. The internet connection was superb, easy to connect to. I don't watch television, but there were big flat screen TV's in almost every room of the house. The only requests owner made of renters were to remove shoes upon entering the house (good rule to have to maintain a super clean house), park in driveway only not garage, reset fridge and thermostat to requested temps, empty trash and put can at street, remove linens from bed and place in hamper (no problem). When I asked owner if he wanted me to mop floors and clean bathroom before I left he said, "You are on vacation, we want you to have a great time and relax. We will take care of that for you." THANK YOU!
Only complaint were plug-in air fresheners used throughout the house. Though they smell good, I am alergic to almost all scented products and suffer from migraine/respitory problems. I called owner immediately upon entering the house and asked if I could remove the plug-ins during my stay and plug them back in upon leaving. He said by all means "yes." Once air fresheners were unplugged and air cleared shortly after, I was fine.
Enjoyed stay immensely, definitely rent again. Short drive to beach (plenty of paid parking), shopping, restaurants, music venue close by.
My family just stayed here. This was our first time using HomeAway and working with Mr. Hicks. The house is a prefect location and the community pool access was a bonus for us.
The community itself is very nice - the kids loved the pool (within walking distance) and there are sidewalks and paths throughout the area for walking, biking and running. There is a playground in the Bayville Shores part of the community (this house is in the Bayville Landing area, just off of 54). The home is large, clean and open. There is no on street parking, but you can park one car in the driveway of the home and others on an off street pad close to the house.
Unfortunately, there were a few issues. When we got to the house there was a wasp nest under the front porch roof. The wasp greeted us, which was a problem as we had two small children with us. When we got inside the home, there was a can of wasp spray on the counter, so we checked the house and there were none. Rayvon was very responsive when I called him for this an other issues. Someone came the next day to get rid of the wasp's nest and to clean the grill.
Our biggest disappointment was the living room. The picture online is very deceptive, showing much more furniture than there actually was. There was only one loveseat over by the window and a sleeper sofa against the staircase. No chairs, no end tables... For a house that can handle 10 people, this was clearly not enough. We pretty much just sat on the floor the whole time. There is a wall mounted television, but you couldn't see it well from the existing seating. We've used VRBO many times and I have to say that this is the first time that the pictures did not accurately represent what the house actually looked like.
The listing indicates that there is a 4th Bedroom with a sleep sofa/futon. This is actually the sleeper sofa in the Living Room. In our experience, owners do not list a sleeper sofa in the LR as a 4th Bedroom. The listing also indicates there is a one car garage, but the rental agreement says that it is for the owners only.
The kitchen and dining areas were nice, but did not have adequate cooking utensils. It would have been nice to have enough seating at the table for at least nine, we rotated sitting up at the bar. The back yard was small and not really inviting, would have been nice to have a few lawn chairs, though.
On a positive note, the community is not far from the beaches off of Coastal Highway.
My family and I enjoyed our stay there! There was plenty of space for us to spread out and the home was very well kept! The community is quite nice, in terms of the pool and jogging paths, and the location is central, so we were able to go to OC, Bethany, and Rehoboth! Owner is great to work with! Thanks!
