The cottage is a meticulously clean, well designed 1 brm ‘home away from home ‘ offering boutique standards.
All linen supplied and extra blankets and pillows available on site.
Cosy in winter with double glazing, insulation and heat pump/air con, guests at Laurel Cottage enjoy a full kitchen with some basic pantry supplies - sugar, oil, vinegar, salt & pepper etc.
Privately nestled in our back garden, well away from the street with adjacent beautiful mature trees & birdsong. the cottage has a private, north facing covered outdoor deck which extends the living space during warmer seasons - accessed directly through the living room french doors.
Beyond the verandah is a small lawn and garden area to assist your relaxation.
Off street parking is on our double entry front drive. Guest access to the cottage is via a concrete pathway from that driveway.

We are willing to have a baby (please request porta cot if you need it supplied) or mature/quiet teen or young adult with parents but sorry not suitable for active young children because of the setting.
No guests/visitors other than those who've booked the accommodation and smoking is not allowed on the property.

The Area;
Our property is a 5 min walk from Carterton's shops, cafes and restaurants, and only about 10 mins walk to the railway station. There’s a New World Supermarket, chemist, petrol station, laundromat, Library/Info Centre and numerous other shops and Carterton’s Event Centre.
A 10 min drive south will find you in lovely Greytown which has popular cafes, restaurants and boutique style shopping.
Masterton is 15 mins north. Wellington city is approx 1 & 1/2 hrs drive by car.
There are rivers for summer enjoyment and beaches further afield at Castlepoint (the walk to the lighthouse is a major attraction) and Riversdale (both over an hours drive away). Then there's the south coast's Palliser Bay with its rustic fishing village of Ngawi, Palliser Bay's iconic lighthouse which are both worth visiting. Not so far away - Martinborough and Gladstone's many wineries and cafes are a popular feature of this area. Pukaha Wildlife Centre (well worth a visit) is at Mt Bruce (20 mins north of Masterton). Tramping/hiking in the Mt Holdsworth (Tararua Ranges) area. Remutaka Cycle trail. Fell Museum at Featherston. Lake Wairarapa, Lake Onoke, Henley Lake Park (man made lake in Masterton -good to walk around) Queen Elizabeth Park and Aratoi museum in Masterton. Cobblestones museum and the popular Schoc Chocolate shop in Greytown. The Woodside Rail Trail is a pleasant 5 km walk or bike track from Greytown to the Woodside Train Station.
