https://www.facebook.com/baybeautyriverton. A traditional family experience - no 'additional guest fees' - flexible pricing structure to suit all types of families and all budgets:
- option to bring own linen and do own cleaning to save on booking fees (tell us when you book so we can amend the cost)
- $40 linen hire for up to two beds
- one night stays usually accepted
- reduced autumn/winter rates, day bookings also accepted.
A true kiwi bach experience at our place! Definitely not the hotel feel (if that's what you are looking for, perhaps don't book here!) - all the bachy quirks with pre-loved recycled furniture, functional/not fancy bathroom, but very clean, warm, sunny and cosy (even in winter).
ACCESSIBILITY: this house is not level flooring or level access from the driveway. The floor is uneven as it's an old home however, we have a walking frame that is there for use as well as a walking stick if people feel unsteady.
- All day sun, and wood/coal pot belly stove if it gets a little chilly.
- Amazing vista "mesmerizing view"
- Areas for everyone to have their own space
- Books (most ages), board games, old PlayStation and singstar if you're game!
- Use our gumboots or sandshoes if they fit and enjoy the Bay across the road
- Butcher and supermarket less than a kilometer away
- Visit the pub on foot! Aparima Tavern is a few minutes stroll away (650 metre walk)
- Dolphins will visit if you're lucky - primo view of them swimming up the river
We are a family, so our bach has a family feel (e.g., our stuff is there and you're welcome to use any of it).
We adore the closeness to the local pub where we can take our children and not worry about having a couple of drinks - the car barely gets used.
The local butcher is just across the bridge, as is the supermarket and hardware store - great location for those who like to be right in the middle of everything but still easily walk to the beach!
It takes about 15-20 minutes to walk to the Taramea Bay beach (adult). We usually just go across the road to the Bay and jump in there when the tide is in - and will go to the Taramea beach if we want to do a picnic (taking the car).
Views are stunning even on a stormy day - nothing like watching the boats come in and out from the master bedroom or lounge.
We have great fun out the front watching the kids swim or find crabs - very relaxing - a real place to rest and enjoy.
