This single storey holiday cottage, Ty Cerrig, is carved out of an ancient farm building, and is situated in the Snowdonia National Park above the village of Llanbedr.

The cottage has a cosy, quirky charm that comes from its rough hewn beams, irregular white stone walls and welcoming log burning stove in the sitting room. The accommodation is arranged over one floor and includes two bedrooms and a fitted kitchen with a dining area. Maximum occupancy is 4. The pretty, enclosed rear garden offers a relaxing space in which to kick back after a day's exploring. If you love the great outdoors, you'll love this perfectly located holiday cottage close to the peaks of Snowdonia and the beautiful coastline of North Wales.

Region: Famous for its choirs, stunning mountain ranges and beautiful valleys, this wonderful country has something for everyone. From Snowdonia in North Wales to the Brecon Beacons and the Pembrokeshire Coast in the South.

Town: Boasting its own mild climate because of its unusual position between The Rhinogs and the golden beaches of the North Wales coastline, and offering an abundance of wildlife and birds, the charming village of Llanbedr also offers a good choice of local shops and a superb pub. The nearby town of Harlech is popular with golfers because it's home to the famous Royal St. David's course, Dominated by the magnificent 13th century castle, Harlech also offers a variety of amenities including good quality restaurants. Barmouth is eight miles away and here you will find an incredible Panorama Walk with spectacular views, and a harbour from which you can hop on a ferry to Fairbourne and discover its miniature railway or take mackerel fishing trips out to sea. The stunning Snowdonia National Park and gorgeous Cardigan Bay are also waiting to be discovered in this exceptional holiday destination.

Great cottage for escape from work

We love this area with its wooded valleys, streams and amazing trees. fantastic walks starting just at the back of the cottage. The cottage suited us fine and was equiped with everything we needed, it was very clean and tidy. Just a few negatives, the lintel from the hall is low and caught both my wife and I a few times. I expect this in a cottage but this one is made of sharp stone and I would be concerned that someday someone will do a serious injury. I have modified several old stone buildings and although removing it, replacing it with wood and raising the height might seem a lot of work it is only a couple of days for a good builder. The other issue is the wiring which is quaint to say the least. Due to high level of the socket behind the TV the exstention lead is at the level of the Sky box and causes an annoying hum. This could probably be simply cured with a longer lead. Finally a warning, don't start the kitten jigsaw puzzle unless you have two weeks its really frustrating. We had perfect weather so no real complaints.
