Arcachon is a seaside town by the ocean. Located in the South West of France, in New Aquitaine, it is famous for the oyster harvest. Its 4 districts take their name from the seasons of the year. The City of Summer (city center) hosts shopping streets, the city's main sandy beach and a casino, housed in Château Deganne, a 19th century building. The Winter City conceals extravagant 19th century villas. The residential Spring town and the Autumn town with the Aiguillon district where there is the marina and the fishing port. To the south of the city is the Pilat dune, a huge natural sand dune, the highest dune in Europe.
