A partir do nível superior da casa, desfrutar de tirar o fôlego a partir do deck. Com vista a 5 acre lago de pesca privada com vista para as belas montanhas da Floresta Nacional de Pisgah no fundo. Dê um passeio através do lago no barco de remo, molhe um gancho e carretel em sua captura para o jantar. O lago é abastecido com baixo, dourada, peixe-gato e truta arco-íris.

A partir do nível mais baixo, relaxar em um deck coberto longo e desfrutar de alimentar o koi, dourada & bass. A área de estar confortável para jantar fora, um balanço e cadeiras de varanda são fornecidos para o seu conforto.

20 Steps to the fishing pond

We just got back and had a very nice long weekend. We took our two girls, and two of their friends (ages 11-13). They loved fishing from the paddle boat. The downstairs was great because all 4 of them could have their own space and my husband and I had the upstairs to ourselves. The house is very clean and cute. There are loads of clean towels and sheets. The two decks are a lot of fun to hang out on. We grilled out and enjoyed the quiet.

Not what we signed up for

Online---Beautiful pictures of a clean home and great deck.

Unfortunately, that is not what you get when you rent this property.

The pictures that the owner posted on HomeAway are many years old---very outdated.

Getting to the cottage-you pull into an event center that is partially abandoned and non functional followed by an old shed/building that has no roof and is ripped apart.

I give a star for location. Good location 10-15 mins to Sierra Nevada Brewery(great place) and 20 mins to Brevard, 30 mins to great water falls.

I give another star for the lake in back of the cottage. Geese and fish to feed and fish.

I take away three stars for:

-The beautiful pictures of the deck are a joke. Both front and back decks are run down, parts that are broken, gates hanging off hinge and nails protruding. The front deck---there are boards you need to be careful walking on for fear of them breaking.

-Overall run down status of cottage

-Cockroaches/water beetles everywhere

-30-40% of all light switches do not work

-Downstairs ceiling fan does not work (over Kitchen)

-Completely destroyed gas grill

-HVAC is a mess. Gas burner upstairs that is ventilated through house with a constantly running central blowing fan. Thermostat is old and not accurate. Ducts are CAKED full of dirt and mold.

-HVAC room confirms mold with over grown patches on blower and humidifier.

-Windows and screens so dirty that it took my family 30 minutes to clean and open.

-Majority of blinds broken

-Downstairs front storm door broken, flings open and has no handle.

-Closet door broken

-Large oven burner and knob broke (on Thanksgiving get away)

-Upstairs shower drain clogged---could not take showers in that bathroom

-Upstairs toilet clogged repeatedly--with just toilet paper

-Outside fans not functional

-The surrounding lakes decks are old and broken. Use caution

-Paddle boat that owner advertises is very old and run down---no way we were going out on it.

So....what did the owner say about my complaints?

-Told me "clean the broken grill" I said no. Then had him bring another to the cottage

-My above numerous complaints afterwards? He was unaware of "some" of the things and he blamed his cleaning lady for not telling him.

This is an ok cottage if you want an average place to get away to if you want a step up from state park cabins. However, do not expect the cottage to be anywhere near reflective of the description/pictures. This is not a well maintain luxury cottage.

Resposta do proprietário: I would like to respond to this review. First of all, there is an Event center on the property which is very functional. We have outdoor weddings and indoor receptions just about every weekend. Yes the lower level is abandoned. The shed is an old pottery shed and is left there because people love to have pictures taken. We are in the process of putting a new roof on it. The decks are not run down at all. There are a few pickets that need some attention. I checked the deck boards and there is not one board that is rotten and dangerous. The only thing wrong with the deck is pressure washing. Each year we have the Cottage treated for insects and this is the first I have heard of any Cockroaches or water beetles! I also checked every light switch in the Cottage and I found one that did not work and that was because the light bulb was burnt out. The downstairs ceiling fan does not work but the one in the kitchen does. The renter called the the evening they arrived and told me there is just a small flame on the grill. I mentioned that they could try to clean the burners. They called me back and said the burners were corroded. The next morning, we delivered a new grill. As far as the HVAC, it works fine. As far as the ducts,I looked at all the vents and there was the normal dirt and dust that you find in any used vent. I did not see any mold at all. As far as the windows, it is winter, why would you want to open them? The Cottage is old and the windows do not operate like a new house. There are a few blinds that are broken or bent and they will be replaced. The down stairs storm door handle is broken and will be replaced. The knob on the oven is not broke, the eye just does not work. It will be fixed. The upstairs tub did not drain so I plunged it and it works fine. I flushed the upstairs toilet several times and it never clogged. The paddle boat is old but it floats and works. Renters use it all the time. Yes, we ask the cleaning lady to inform us of anything that needs attention but there are some of the issues she would not notice by just cleaning. I appreciate the renters letting me know of the issues but I think most of them are nit-picky! The Cottage is rented out just about every weekend and we rarely have any complaints!!! Just the opposite!!! This is a Cottage, not a luxury home!!! It is in the mountains, not in an expensive neighborhood!!! If you are looking for a luxury place to stay, this is not for you!!!

Nice Stay near Asheville

This is a nice property if you are looking to get away from it all! The porch and the waterfront are great amenities. It is an older cabin, and many items are needing repair or updating, which might be off putting to some travelers. For the most part, it was clean and comfortable. I give it 3 1/2 stars.

The place was filthy!!! I called to ask for our cleaning deposit back as my co-worker and I had to clean the floors, the bathrooms, take the trash out etc. YUCK!! I called the owner and he gave a lame apology. I asked for a mop to be delivered the next day or for him to send a cleaner. He said he would do something and never did. We were there to work and worked from 7am-7pm and had no time to look for another place. Please do yourself a favor and don't stay here. It is also right on the main highway which the pictures creatively leave out.

Resposta do proprietário: The renter did call and said that the Cottage needed a little cleaning but it was no problem. She said that it was not that bad. I asked her what i could do and she said that if I would deduct the cleaning fee of $50.00 everything would be fine. I did deduct that off her bill. She did not ask for for a mop (There is one at the Cottage) and did not ask me to send a cleaner. I apologize for it not being spotless!

Wnderful weekend

We had 4 adults and 3 children stay here and it was perfect!! We stayed over Memorial Day weekend and enjoyed the apple festival in down town Hendersonville which was just a short drive away and visited the biltmore estate the next day. Our stay was great and the cottage was perfect for us. Ingles grocery store is less than 5 minutes away. Sat out on the deck every morning for coffee and enjoyed it in the evening also. The view is breath taking. It does butt up to a roadway but it wasn't unpleasant. The kids caught around 20

Fish right from the dock. Small brim but the kids had a blast!!
