This house was perfect for our family vacation. We was taking our daughter to drop her at BYUH, and wanted to stay somewhere that was close to where she will be living. The house was plenty big for us and we even had my mother along with my husband and two teenagers. There was three bedrooms total, but my son insisted on sleeping in the amazing hammock every night. We locked the front of the house every night, but felt very safe to leave the back doors open for the crosswinds each night to stay cooler. There was no air conditioner but we figured out how to make the breeze ways work. My kids loved riding the bikes down for ice cream, and they found enough gear in the garage to snorkel and boogie board. The private access to the beach threw us off because it is on the other side of the peninsula. However it is only a five minute walk and is very beautiful. We walked to the end on the peninsula almost every morning to watch the sun rise. We cooked several meals at the house and it was pretty stocked(might recommend a few mixing bowls). Breakfast on the laini was the best! Chick and Cookie was great at letting us extend our check out time a couple of hours which made it easier to get our daughter moved into her dorm. The house manager even let us drop off our luggage 3 hours before check in, which was very appreciated because we had zero room in the car to grocery shop. We really enjoyed the selection of books, and took advantage of them to learn about the island. Even though it freaked me out at first, we loved, loved, loved the lizards that you WILL find around the house. Locals say it is good luck to find a baby gecko, and we was lucky enough to come across two of them. They are apart of the island life, so please don't take this as a negative, and please don't hurt them if you stay at this gray house. I would definitely rent this house again. The drive way is very narrow and we had to rent a van, and it was challenging backing out of it, but can be done. It would be easier if you rent smaller vehicles, or a short walk to the street. We loved the tip book about shopping and dinning. Our favorite food truck was the Island Breeze. Stop and have the lobster tacoes... amazing! Thank you for sharing your home with us Chick and Cookie we had an awesome vacation! Mahalo
We were a group of friends and family on the north shore for a friends wedding- and this house was a DREAM. Enough space for each of us to "check out' or socialize depending on mood. The lanai is beautiful- the view out to the ocean is beyond words- and the hammock was everyone's favorite. Our visitors had "house envy".!
The double shower in the master was great too, and the kitchen / living room was nice and open. All the ceiling fans kept the air moving in the heat (a little stuffier in the smaller bedrooms but still fine considering the humidity). Floors were beautiful. Nice and close to the store (a walk) and the ocean... But we did find the beaches farther up the main road to have softer sand and be a bit better for swimming. Bring water shoes to the beach by the house. Great they had boogie boards, beach chairs and umbrellas etc. Also note parking can be challenging with a bigger car- don't rent an suv unless you totally need to.
We arrived at the property in the evening and it was difficult to find it due to it being located between two houses. Once we entered the house, it was well presented and the inside look identical on how it was described. The owners provided clear instructions and provide a how-to binder on eateries, things to do, and where to go, which made it helpful. The only drawback was how close the neighbors were. We were on vacation and we pretty much stayed up and hung out on the balcony every night but keep our voices down during the week. On Saturday late in the evening, we were asked to keep it down. I think due to the humid weather, everyone's window had to be left open to keep the houses cool but this allowed the neighbors to be distracted. It was too hot to be inside the house and we were on vacation.
The bikes we used were flat and needed to be pumped up and eventually went flat again. The agent was very helpful and wanted to purchase new tubes but we didn't ride them again so we declined. We attempted to go fishing with the one fishing pole that was left there but due to the salt corrosion, it was inoperable. This was a total bummer but we enjoyed the snorkeling kit that was probably left by other visitors. Also, the kitchen had enough kitchenware to use for cooking, this was very helpful.
Overall, we enjoyed our stay at the property. Being that it was our first time in Hawaii, adapting to the humid weather was a little difficult. The house had ceiling fans but not enough to cool the house down but hey, we are in Hawaii. I would have rated this a 4.5 star but couldn't so therefore I give it a 4 stars. I would recommend this place to anyone who has 3 or more visitors who would like a comfortable place to stay and out of the city.
This house was wonderful! What a great location, beautiful area. We loved getting up every morning and listening to the waves rolling in, not to mention, sitting on the lanai looking out at the gorgeous view. The hammock was well used and every night someone was asleep in it! We all enjoyed the quiet neighborhood and laid back feel being on the North Shore. We took day trips and explored the whole island over the course of the week and it was great to come back to the house and relax in the evening. Many of the suggestions noted in the house book we took advantage exploring. Great source of local information. The house was stocked with everything we needed and was a very comfortable place to hang out. Thank you for sharing your home with us.

Thank you for sharing your lovely house on the Pacific! It felt like home!
The view was extraordinary and the location was convenient to the North Shore. Even Waikiki is easily accessible on a Sunday avoiding commuter traffic. Breakfast and evenings on the Lanai were breath taking. There was no need to be indoors! The TV was not even turned on! Your home was a welcome retreat after our day's events.
The local food trucks, Teddy's Bakery, Haliewa Joes, Seven Brothers, Turtle Bay, House Without a Key (Waikiki), the Waikiki Yacht Club (Reciprocal Agreement honored), Turtle Bay, as well as Foodland, etc., provided sustenance and an introduction to local flavors. We enjoyed Waikiki, Pearl Harbor, the numerous beautiful beaches, ATVs, horseback riding, hiking Waimea Valley, swimming in the refreshing falls, and, yes, jumping off "The Rock" at Waimea Bay. A local treat was spotting a seal and pup on the shore by Turtle Bay. After 50 years, touring the Naval Base in Wahiawa was an honor and brought back many fond memories. There is so much more to see, and hope we can return again some day.
Your House Manager, Aaron, was very responsive to our one request. He addressed our deflated bike tire concern by immediately replacing the missing pump and inflating the tires. A text message was all that was needed.
The Aloha experience was enjoyed by all in our family! We certainly recommend your home.
Thank you again, Chick and Cookie, for sharing your slice of paradiseI

Beautiful house. We loved the lanai, watching the ocean. We had all of our meals out there and spent most of each evening just relaxing there on very comfortable chairs and a hammock. Sleeping with the windows open, listening to the ocean was wonderful.
The house has everything we needed-dish soap, dishwasher soap, shower soap, shampoo, conditioner, toilet paper and paper towels. Kitchen was well equipped and easy to use. We used the washer and dryer every day. Master bed was very comfortable. Large double shower in master bath very nice. Beach equipment great-chairs, mats, umbrella, snorkel gear, boogie boards, bikes. Grocery store just down the street very convenient.
Chick was easy to work with and responded to my questions quickly. The property was exactly as described and pictured.
If you want a north shore, peaceful place to stay in, this is it. Unlike so many north shore houses, this one has no road noise and has a traffic light at the neighborhood entrance so it is easy to get in and out of.
