Casa da Fontainho is our granite style home and is situated in the North of Portugal in the Minho region and is nestled in the Peneda/Gerêz National Park in the village of Cabril, a lovely isolated place, sat on the Rio Cabril and surrounded on all sides by majestic mountains. The house can sleep up to 6 people and is at the end a quiet country lane and is surrounded by well farmed fields of maize, potatoes and other well tendered crops.
The village of Fontainho only consists of a few granite farmhouses. Nearby in the village of Cabril with its beautiful Salamonde reservoir (great for trout fishing) offers several places to eat, a mini-market, local church and a few cafés. A daily bread van will pass the Lodge and twice weekly the fruit & vegetable, fishmongers and grocers. The best drinking water can be obtained from our lodge as we have a mine in the hills above bringing fresh clear water to our lodge.
The lodge is decorated to a high standard, with a fully fitted modern kitchen with built in dishwasher, microwave, electric oven and hob, fridge freezer and washing machine and central isle with built in wine rack access to a the lower covered terrace with mountain views.
The spacious open plan lounge is tastefully furnished with a blu ray DVD player, 48 inch flat screen smart TV with 4 local channels. Dining table seating 8 and access to the lower covered terrace for dining al fresco.
The bedrooms have twin beds and bathrooms and are beautifully furnished the bedrooms on the 1st floor have access to the upper terrace and spectacular mountain views
The lodge is set within 3,000sq mtrs of farmland, it is not landscaped, just natural.
There is a Delta Q Espresso coffee maker. Please supply your own capsules.
There is a washing machine please supply your own detergente.
