WOW The Views!!!!

We just returned from our trip in Point Pleasant Resort...the views from the villa are beautiful with the island views to the blue ocean!!! We loved everything about this villa, the cool breeze during the day to quite nights star gazing!

Chris is very helpful and goes above and beyond to make sure that you are going to have the best vacation!

Loved everything about the villa perfect for fabulous vacation! Can't wait to be back!!!!

Perfect Honeymoon!!

My husband and I went there for our honeymoon. I was first nervous about booking a place I had never seen (my parents had a bad experience and that must've left an impression!) But Chris was amazing. She dealt mostly with my husband but he said she was very helpful with questions, very responsive and pretty quick with her reply. Her list of places to check out and things to do was so helpful and we did a lot of them! She met us as the condo when we arrived and gave us all kinds of taxi, shuttle etc numbers and her driver was there and gave us his number as well. We LOVED our view! It was incredible to wake up with the sunrise everyday. The breeze is perfect and the view for your morning coffee or a glass of wine at night is unbeatable. It's definitely a walk to get down to the beach but so worth it! We are young and in great shape and it was kind of tiring to us so I would suggest a car for some people. However we are so glad we didn't rent a car. The walk to bus stops and taxi stops were not bad and the rides were very affordable - cheaper for us than to rent a car. The condo was perfect size for just us. Chris recommended the trip to St John (and a whole list of other things we did) and on her list was to eat at the Lime Inn claiming they have the best lobster, she was NOT lying! Incredible! I certainly was very pleased with our trip, we had a perfect honeymoon and we will come back someday! It could not have been better!

The View has one of the best views at the resort and you see the sea and islands when you wake up in your bed and from everywhere in the villa.. We are on top of the hill and there are plenty of short cuts and nature trails to shorten your walk to the beaches. We recommend that to come back up you stop at the Shoreline Bar and call for a free ride back up the hill from one of the resort drivers. We do recommend renting a car because not only can you drive up and down to the private beach and Pineapple Beach in a minute but you will also be able to explore more of the island and visit some of the best beaches in the world in the St. John national Park as well. We have tips and connections to help you save money on car rental, so please ask us about that before you rent one.

The View is 5 stars however....

The View is spectacular however the condo needs some TLC. Most everything worked but I couldn't get past the tiny bugs all over the counter. I brought disinfectant wipes but that only helped for an hour. I couldn't get rid of the little bugs. Is this normal for St Thomas? I'm not sure. I used the toaster, microwave and the coffee pot only. I wouldn't have used the stove due to the pots and pans because they needed some serious cleaning and that is not what I wanted to do on vacation. The bed was comfortable. Chris was very helpful and prompt with every question I had. I read every review because they are the reasons we rent through this site. I wouldn't rent this condo because of the bugs and the tlc it needed for the money, I'm sorry to say.

Resposta do proprietário: Dear Kellie, I am really sad that you were disappointed. I met you and asked you to let me know if you needed anything. You only had to call me and I would have come over, bought you new pots and pans, wiped off any sugar ants or told you where the bug spray was. I keep bug spray under the sink and over near the books. If you look under the sink you will find that I also provide bleach, and other cleaning products. Sugar ants are found everywhere in the caribbean and in Hawaii too, along with geckos. Just google "sugar ants". They are harmless, tiny and almost microscopic and transparent insects that are in every residence and hotel rooms. They can be in the walls and in the concrete. As their name suggests, they appear if there is a crumb, a grain of sugar and any fruit juice or sweet drink. All you need to do to make them disappear is to wipe them off with a cloth, but for more permanent results, bleach is recommended. We keep bleach to wipe off ants and sterilize, under the sink. We have pest control spray monthly but it does not remove sugar ants. They come back. Even the new hotel next door, Margaritaville has them and the Ritz Carlton. I replace the pots and pans every year. No one else complained. In any case I have asked our cleaning person to throw them out. We spent all of November and December doing renovations. We had a new stone and glass shower put in. We also had a new and very powerful and quiet air conditioner put in that reaches out to the bedroom to keep it cool at night. We also invested in a new big screen TV with a Roku and had our own secure dedicated wi fi service put in so that people can access there own Netflix and Hulu and HBO accounts via our upgraded Wi Fi. This also means that our guests have a secure wi fi network instead of the resorts' open system. We also bought new sheets and towels and a new bed spread and a new dining table and chairs for the deck. We had hoped that you might have enjoyed some of our upgrades. Most of my reviews were written prior to the upgrading.However, I think that some of our great reviews reflect the fact that we are on the island and offer the personal service and recommendations 24/7 by text and phone, as well as discounts on the best boat trips and help with car rental. Again, I am sorry that you did not reach out to me. It IS expensive to stay in the winter, but the rates drop sharply in spring. Our rates are among the lowest at Point Pleasant Resort.

Great Condo

As all mentioned, Chris is extremely friendly & helpful. She gave us recommendations on outings - all that we enjoyed, were great.

The view when you walk into the condo is breathtaking! We didn't shut the curtains once. Waking up to the sun rising over the Virgin Islands every morning was amazing. Our time in the condo was very relaxing & peaceful.

The condo itself is comfortable and clean. My boyfriend and I were scheduled for a romantic getaway but ended up traveling with my 4 year old daughter (and our nanny - for the back end of the trip) and we had more than enough room/privacy.

There is a great grocery in Red Hook called Moe's Market which allowed us to get all of our grocery's for the week - including wine & beer. Buy liquor at the airport, duty free - it's cheaper. Moe's is like Whole Foods. The people at Moe's were very friendly & pricing was reasonable. We cooked breakfast everyday and dinner more than half the time plus lunch/snacks when were were there. Having the access to Moe's and a kitchen suitable to cooking was great; saved on expensive restaurant tabs.

You need to rent a car if you're staying at this property. There is a pool within 100 yards but the best day spots are Coki Beach or Sapphire Beach, both a short drive. We also used our jeep to go to St John's for a hike and beach time (via Ferry) which was an amazing outing. I was hesitant when Chris told me she recommended a car, but it was a must have. Plan ahead with BUDGET and pricing is about $350/wk - well worth it! I wouldn't recommend staying at this property without one.

Recommendations:

1. Rent a car

2. Google maps (via your smartphone) is the BEST (and only) way to drive the island and stay sane (no signs); use Google maps to get from the airport to Point Pleasant Resort where the condo it and everywhere else

3. Grocery shop at Moe's - this will save you a lot of $$$

4. Bars/Restaurants: Molly Malone's, Fishtail and Tap & Still; Hull Bay Hideaway on the Northside is worth the 30 min drive

4. Plan trips to the other islands

5. If you like to Scuba (or interested in learning) go see Pete and his crew at the dive shop at Coki Beach. I worked with Luke to finish my certification and he was amazing and made it so much fun! If you don't scuba, you can snorkel there as well and see so many amazing fish.

6. Give yourself 3 hours at the airport when you're leaving - it's a zoo and the baggage people take tips to let others cut you which adds time.

You do not need a jeep but having a car not only makes access to the beaches quick and easy. It will also help you to see out-of-the-way places like the Hull Bay Hideaway that are part of the "local" island scene and the amazing beaches on St. John when you take your car over on the barge. Another point you made is the the split level floor plan of this spacious villa makes it very easy to privately and comfortably sleep 4 people. Sofa beds are uncomfortable so we have invested in a full tempurpedic mattress for our pull out couch. It is more comfortable than most beds. There is also a king bed in the bedroom which has a lockable door and lockable screens if privacy is a requirement.

Perfect location, fabulous view, great space.

The resort was lovely and our condo had to have had one of the best views on the island. Nice space with everything you could ask for. The secluded pool, steps from our front door was an extra plus, except "who needs a pool with the most beautiful beaches in the world just minutes away." Christine was very helpful and it was nice to have someone who knows the island so well. We are planning to return in February. Loved it!

Even though we have some of the most beautiful beaches a walk or short drive away, it is very convenient to have that pool nearby.. We have often had families stay where Dad takes the children to the pool to have fun while their mother makes lunch or dinner. Some people have a preference for fresh water. At The View you have a choice.

You'll never tire of this view

I first stayed with Chris in 2009 and have been back two more times (2011 and 2012) and will definitely come back. I even sent my daughter and son-in-law to Chris for their honeymoon (July 2013). I knew she'd take good care of them (as she has me these many times) and she did. They loved their time in St. Thomas and loved their stay on Chris' property. I only wish I could have gone too! The condo is amazing and Chris is knowledgeable and always at your service if she's on island. I hope to see you soon Chris!
