PLEASE NOTE: My personal preference while on Vacation is to Not be Disturbed. Keep this in mind when reading this. Others may be more social and not mind. Overall, this property is very clean. The view from the back balcony is stunning. The house is well stocked with just about everything one should need for their stay. The location is just a couple miles off the main highway. It is a dirt/gravely road, however very drivable for most vehicles.
The owners do live "next door" to this property. But there is ample space between to obtain some semi-privacy. The owners Lynn and Mike greeted us upon our arrival. They were very thorough in telling us every detail of the home. Where things were, how to work the hot tube, etc. That was nice, and thoughtful. No issues there.
Later during the stay, Mike saw us outside and walked over to offer us some home made Cheesecake. Very sweet gesture. Was not bothered that he saw us outside and approached us. A couple hours later, he brought us cheesecake and it was devine. Very nice. A storm came through the area, and the electricity went out. We eventually gained it back in the lower level but none on the top level. Not wanting to bother Mike, we just slept in the lower level the rest of the night. Later, while relaxing in the hot tub, eyes closed, my child taps my shoulder, and there is Mike, standing at the Hot tub, asking if I had any trash? I said yes, in the pantry, and he proceeded to go into our rental and get the trash out while we were in the hot tub. It was then I told him about the electricity upstairs. So now, he had to go into the rental and check fuses upstairs as well. When he came back outside to the Hot tub where we were, he sprayed something into the hot tub, to "rid the bubbles" the hot tub was producing when the jets were on WHILE WE WERE IN IT. I personally don't appreciate being approached while in the Hot Tub. I certainly don't appreciate someone spraying something in the hot tube while I'm inside of it. I looked around, and no where did it say "set trash out" on a certain day. There should be a sign. If the electricity is going to go off all the time, as previous guest have stated also, then a generator is a purchase they need to consider. While I appreciate Mike taking out our trash, I certainly don't appreciate the owners wandering through the house while we are actively staying there. Overall, I appreciate the host, and they do have a lovely home. However, give guest space.
