I booked this room online with VRBO as it was affordable. This room was sufficient for me and my husband as we are not fussy, as long as the place is clean. We didn't spend much time in our suite besides sleeping as we were busy checking out NYC. There were only two bath sheets provided, no face cloths or hand towels and only one roll of toilet paper, which wasn't enough for our 6 night stay. The owner said we could contact them if we needed anything but we just didn't have time we were too busy! It would be nice if there were more Linens provided in the suite upon arrival. Property is not appealing from the outside as there is construction nearby; however owner was very pleasant and easy to contact prior to our trip with any questions we had. If you are looking for an affordable place in NYC this will work just fine, nothing spectacular, but a clean place to sleep.
We stayed 4 nights in this cute little apartment. Our host Nourdine was excellent. We met up with his friends to drop off luggage, and when we came later that night he was waiting for us. Very clean and comfortable. The neighborhood was very safe, and had a fun vibe. The number 7 metro stop is right around the corner. Maybe a 5 minute walk at most. We were able to get to Manhattan in about 15 to 20 minutes. There's a cute little cafe that we discovered called Stop Inn. Best french toast I've ever tasted! Definitely a great place to stay.
Nouredinne was a great host and help us feel welcomed. The appt was great, it's exactly how it looks in the pictures and in a safe neighborhood. The station is only about a 2 minutes walk and there were many restaurants to choose from in that area. I enjoyed my stay in this appt!
I booked this property for a last minute trip to NYC using the VRBO site (actually booked it the night before I was to arrive since I didn't have my standby flight confirmed). He has two units, I stayed in the one that does not have the red couch in the photos. I had a great experience with the owner, Nouredinne, the whole time. After inquiring about it and booking it, I sent a deposit via PayPal. Nouredinne was great, we spoke via phone and numerous times via email and text since I did not have my flight information confirmed since I was flying standby. Upon arriving at JFK airport, I was able to take a train (Long Island Rail Road) directly to a station that is a 1.5 blocks from the apartment. This station (Woodside/61st) has several LIRR trains, along with the #7 train that you can use to jump around to Manhattan and any other area of NYC. I used Google maps on my phone (with transit routes) but you could also just carry a subway map since Google sometimes made the trips harder than they had to be. If you're going to take more than 13 trips on the subway (not round trip but specifically on/off) it's better to buy the $30 7-day unlimited pass so you don't have to worry about hopping trains. The location of this apartment is convenient and you don't pay the price of a hotel or rental in Manhattan, yet can get there in like 20min.
Overall, the apartment was good. I figure it is probably a typical NYC/Queens apartment. There is a kitchen with various supplies you'd need, along with a fridge, stove, and microwave. There is a convenience store a block down the street (I grabbed bottled water and $2 tall boy beers). There is also a grocery store up the street if you wanted to not eat out all the time. The bathroom has a sink, toilet, and standup shower (no tub). Nouredinne supplied towels for my stay. You could easily purchase travel size items at the RiteAid up the street if you don't bring any. My only issue was that the water in the sink would randomly turn VERY hot, despite only having the cold lever on. I notified Nouredinne of this and he said he would have someone look at it ASAP. My concern would be someone not paying attention and getting burned like I almost did while I was brushing my teeth.
Overall, I had a good experience with this rental. The location is convenient with the subway line so close, along with several food options and stores. I had dinner the Stop Inn Diner that is right next to the subway station, yum! Thanks Nouredinne!
