When you think of Paradise on the Big Island, O'O house is the perfect place to stay. This is a beautiful, comfortable, immaculate and spacious home! This charming Hawaii Paradise Home provides a very peaceful and relaxing atmosphere. My husband and I were delighted when we arrived and entered this home for our vacation! We loved the cleanliness and the decor too.
This home is equipped with everything you need, including beach towels, beach chairs, boogie boards, fishing poles and golf clubs. The location was ideal too, close to Hilo, Farmer's Market, hiking trails, and volcano. The Keaau Framer's Market was only a few miles away with fresh vegetables, Hawaiian foods, and goodies. We enjoyed sitting on the front lanai and sipping coffee each morning as we viewed the lovely landscape. We heard the soothing sounds of the ocean, which is only a block away. When you walk outside of the house, turn right, then turn left, and there are trails for hiking or strolls along the ocean shore, very scenic! We visited Rainbow Falls, Akaka Falls, Kolekole Beach Park, Panalu'u Black sand beach, and toured volcano. We swam in the hot springs and went diving in Kapoho. We loved Paolo's Cafe, Hilo Bay Cafe, and Ken's House of Pancakes. This home provides the opportunity to relax and enjoy the beauty of old style Hawaii, without large hotels and crowds.
The caretakers on the island were great, very friendly, but did not bother us. We loved the home and we plan on returning next year for more adventure! We recommend this Hawaii Paradise Vacation Home for couples or families that are looking for a great place to stay. Mahalo, Kim & Eric
A friend and I stayed in this lovely vacation retreat for 3 nights. It was very peaceful,
in the country out from Hilo, near the ocean. We each had our own rooms and bath. Just when it was time to leave, I was thinking I wish we had another several days! Beautiful, well maintained. Owner sent us
directions, was very nice in communicating with us prior to the trip. Thank you.
This house was the perfect size for us. We are a family of four and our two kids were able to have their own bathroom which was so great. I checked hotels around the Hilo area and pricing was much higher (almost double!) than this and honestly, once I got to see them in persin they were si old and run diwn. This neighborhood this house is in is pretty quiet. We walked to to the ocean frim here. (Only a 5 minute walk but just to view, you can't swim here. It's nothing but lava rock) We enjoyed our stay here. I will add thiugh, that we rented a car (which is a must) and honestly, did not spend much time in Hilo. The weather was just not what MY idea of vacation is (but, hey, you may like it!). Hilo was always rainy, cloudy, and gloomy in my opinion. So we would leave to Hapuna beach on the west side if the island almost daily. (Hapuna was the best for families by the way, again, for me at least). That side of the island is dry and sunny! We didnt need to spend on food all the time because the house had an ice chest we used all the time to pack our own lunch. That was definitely a plus for us as well. This is a good place to stay. Just remember you'll need bug spray! Enjoy!
Again, the owners were very responsive. They were willing to have the sheets washed without fragrance and got back to us quickly when we had problems with the electrical outlets in the bathrooms. The cottage was well stocked. If we went to Hilo again we would make sure to have air conditioning because we hit a very hot time and the cottage was stuffy. We understood from some neighbors that usually there is a nice sea breeze which would make the house cooler. The garden was lovely and had both avocados and limes.
This house offers everything you need on your adventure On the Big Island: a kitchen that has everything you would need, comfortable beds, nice & clean bathrooms, low maintenance & easy to clean counters, dishwasher, washer and dryer, TV (not that you would need it here), a big lanai for outdoor space, and lots of gear to play. You can walk five minutes to the rocky cliff and eat your picnic while watching the turtles swim in the surf. We were 5 people and had plenty of space to ourselves. Very nice neighbours too.
My family and I had a wonderful time at the O'o house. It's beautiful and peaceful. The house was very clean and spacious. Everything was practically provided, such as towels, shampoo, body wash, hair products to female products. The kitchen had everything as well. I would recommend this beautiful house to anyone who is visiting Hilo. Location is awesome, near the ocean cliffs. I would rent this house again.
