Sobre esta propriedade

Philip's villa 2 is a bright property with a private sea view pool.

The philip's villa is located on the island of Koh Tao. This island is regularly ranked among the 10 most beautiful islands in the world.
The villa was built on a very wooded side of the island
which allows a pleasant freshness during the day. Very close to lang Khaay bay and Aow Leuk beach famous for its turtles and corals.

The Philip's villa is a bright property with 2 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, a sitting area, a dining area and a kitchen. Ideally designed for 4 people with its double bed and 2 single beds, this little gem transports you with its breathtaking views of the
sea. These gems being its terrace and its infinity pool, offering a plunging view of the blue horizon.

Architecture:
At first glance there does not seem to be outside the temples, typically Thai architecture. You have to look deep into the most remote countryside and observe the old administrative buildings to understand the basics of Thai architecture. Like any architecture, the organization is made taking into account the climate of the materials available and the way of life. The most common points in old buildings are; overflowing roofs to create maximum freshness an elevation on stilts to create a
cool & sheltered ground floor for crafts,
cooking or storing crops ...
An external staircase giving access to a floor exclusively intended for sleeping. The evolution of housing needs, the scarcity of wood, air conditioners and modern insulation techniques was right with this architecture and it becomes (with the exception of some areas) difficult to find a trace. Most of the constructions are modeled on Balinese Javanese or European architecture. What would have become of Thai architecture if it had followed an evolution similar to what is shown in other regions? It was to this exercise that Vladimir Dubus, an architect in Paris, tried to answer. Unpretentious but with a resolutely current look he structured his thinking around the most striking elements of traditional architecture. An external but covered staircase, an overflowing roof (with a false double port). Semi-peripheral cladding completes the idea of seeking freshness and facilitates consensual integration into the landscape. Two houses were built on the same bases, the third being completely contemporary with a roof terrace so as not to harm the exceptional view from which the other constructions benefit.

Construction philosophy:
It is likely that the best ecological idea for a construction is to bet on its sustainability, then comes the energy consumed for its construction and that necessary for its use. Concrete and metal are not materials that excel in ecology, the water necessary for their implementation the extraction of sand and gravel without counting the energy necessary for the preparation of cement. You might think that by building in concrete you have to have it all wrong, however if you do not take into account the destination of the structure or its location of local skills, political and transport issues, energy calculations become false. The presence of a very abundant wood-eating insect in this part of the island compromises the use of cultivated wood (too attractive for insects and offering construction possibilities only with excessive use of insecticide). The most noble woods are mostly smuggled and promotes the enrichment of the Burmese military and the Laotian apparatchiks, but above all it contributes to the irreversible deforestation of millennial forests.
Our contribution to the most ecological approach possible
70% of the 455 cubic meters of water we used for construction comes from rainwater harvesting the remaining 30% was imported by boats from the mainland and was pumped into a river before it flows in the sea. The material dosages and their implementation were scrupulously followed, the siting of the houses was done so as not to cut precious trees (you will see on our site the presence of three trees more than bicentennial) the materials used for the roofs allow optimum recovery of rainwater. The wood used for the frames comes from certified cultivation wood and the treatments have been carried out with mineral oils. The energy value of the tiles is very poor, but also for aesthetic reasons, the pools are made of natural stone and the floors of cement tiles. These various remarks are not intended to pass our constructions for Eco housing, they only emphasize our intention to have a long-term impact as least damaging as possible while making our guests benefit from comfort without flaws.

Landscaping:
We do not want to welcome our guests in impersonal villas and identical we want to receive them in a place, simple, original, comfortable & lively so that they feel at home. Of course, our constructions we can of history but we strive to enrich them and make them evolve so that they bring to our guests the comfort and the amenity of a resort space, whether for interior design or the services that we will offer you your advice your ideas and even your comments will be welcome we do not just want you to come and enjoy the setting we offer we want you to come back. You will find here and there in villas 1 & 3 furniture and decorative elements from Thai crafts. As well as some original ideas from Clémence Zitrone who participated in the decoration.
Staff
If Koh Tao is popular with lovers of the sea to snorkel, dive and relax, it can be appreciated (other than for short stays) by the Thai themselves, indeed there are no major centers in Koh Tao commercial and all its shops which delight the natives the island is very small and does not offer in the long term what we need the young. However we are fortunate to welcome a couple of Thai people commonly called Papa & mama who provide reception services and maintain it may seem odd that this point is to be addressed in the context of this presentation but it seems important to us mean that this discreet presence linked to their very high availability will allow you to better understand their country. Apart from the 5 or 6 Thai families who live on the islands, it is mainly thanks to a Burmese workforce that the economy works.

Leisure
Obviously and first of all scuba diving, do you know that almost half of the diving certifications are done here. The quality of the waters with visibilities of more than 30 m the richness of the fauna of the coral flora makes this place one of the most popular in the world. This wealth is not intended for deep-sea adventurers, the vast majority of things to see are accessible with a simple mask in 2 to 3 meters of water.
For the rest you will not be lacking, from Thai boxing to yoga classes through massage salons you can without any difficulty enhance your stay with multiple activities.

How to come ?
From bangkok
By plane to Samui and boat to Koh Tao
More economical from Bangkok to Chumphon by plane and boat to Koh Tao (less convenient schedule and change of airport
Even more economical and picturesque night train to Chumphon and speed boat to Koh Tao (if you have never taken the sleeper train in Thailand it is an adventure that you can try)
And the top backpackers bus from Bangkok or train to Chumphon and night boat (ferry) arrived in Koh Tao at 4 am after 6 hours of navigation. Very economical but very tiring
(There are Paris Kualalumpour and Kualalumpour Samui flights)

When to come:
A decade ago the frequentation of the island was limited to the festivals of end of year and August, force is to note that for more than 5 years the island is in activity all the year with peaks of attendance December to March and August. The periods of strong heat are much less trying on the island than everywhere else in the region and it rains (unfortunately) much much less than in Koh Samui and Koh Pangan however distant of 50 km. Ranked third best holiday destination by the Lonyplanet guide in 2014, this little corner of greenery lost at sea will keep its charm for a long time since no very large hotel can ever (we wish) transform this island into an amusement park.
