The house was well furnished and very comfortable. We used it as a base to explore different areas of the Piedmonte region.
We spent a week in this wonderful house. Quietly located in a garden area. This house is fullfilling every dream - cozy and very well maintained and perfectly clean. There is everything for a relaxing holiday - the kitchen is fully furnished. It was fun to cook our dinner there. The furnitures are so beautiful - I have never been in a house like this before. So lovely decorated. Bedrooms and bathrooms - so clean and so stylish. We loved that house so much. Shops and supermarkets nearby in Moncalvo. We brought our dog - who could move free. Nice view while you are sitting outside.
We loved the superbly equipped house, with its high level of comfort and relaxed atmosphere. The spacious living areas, bath and shower rooms are excellent.
The house is well situated for visiting the great towns and small cities in reasonably close proximity.
A perfect holiday destination.
My family's stay at this beautiful converted Piemontese farmhouse was sublime. We've stayed in many wonderful Italian villas over the years, but O.P. is by far the most stylish and accommodating. The pictures on the website don't do it justice. From the amazing artwork to the blissful Egyptian cotton bedlinen, from beautifully chosen antique furniture in the bedrooms to the ultra-comfy modern sofas in the cinema room, each space is a study in interior design at its very best. The surrounding countryside is equally gorgeous: from every window there's a view of the Monferrato hills. Our trip was in springtime, so every shade of green was bursting on to the rolling landscape; we'd love to return to witness the region's famous autumn shades (as well as the truffles). The local town, Moncalvo, is well worth a visit: don't miss the antique market on the first Sunday of the month, or the food market every Thursday. The two cafés in the Piazza Garibaldi are great for cappuccinos, cocktails and people-watching, and, for a good-value but top-quality pizza, try Mirko's, on the main road to Asti. Asti itself good for mid-range shops and its Gothic cathedral, and foodies should book into Alba's three-Michelin-starred Piazza Duomo restaurant (which had a starring role in last year's MasterChef). Fashionistas shouldn't miss the Missoni outlet on Via Vittorio Emanuele, also in Alba. You can drive to Torino in an hour; Milano or the Ligurian coast in an hour and a half. On a clear day you can even see the Alps. A stay at O.P. guarantees la dolce vita in spades. So why not leave Tuscany to the tourists and revel in this gem of a farmhouse in Piemonte?
we spent a most wonderful week on your estate - your superb most tastefully equipped house and garden provided just the right frame for a thorough break and week of relaxation.A wonderful weather and a lush countryside inviting to fantastic panoramic walks just rounded the picture. Renato, has been a wonderful support throughout our stay - including a tour to the local winemaker.
So again thank you so much for providing a great week at your estate and being such a considerate host! We’ll definitely come again (together with friends).

A very beautiful house. Amazing interior design.
Comfortable beds (although maybe a bit short for the nordic men) with lots of space for relaxing (a room with dvd player en enormous sofas to lounge), playing games, cooking space for more than one cook, dining in a splendid dining room.
Most of the time we spent in the big kitchen and lit a fire.
December is not the best time of year for the house because we could not heat it entirely to our wishes. But the large walkin shower had floor heating and we enjoyed that very much.
The country side is beautiful. Although again december is not the best time of year. We also had a bit of fog. But even so we had two lunches outside. Sometimes we had sun by the house while down the hill there was fog.
Nearby Moncalvo is a very authentic little town. With a great market (local foods) on thursday. The supermarket (only 10 minute ride away) offers everything you can wish for.
The great thing of visiting there in winter is that a 90 minute drive away you can ski in Val d’Aosta. Also last but not least it is possible to visit Turino and Milano. But a not so touristic gem is Genoa. What a wonderful city. Great fish restaurants near the harbour. And the old town centre is worth a visit. All in all for our family (4 grown up children and us parents) it was a wonderful holiday.
