Welcome to Iconic Sandpiper. Our unit is a rare, almost 100% original example of renowned Architect William Krisel’s genius. It is just a few minutes’ walk from El Paseo. This pristine unit has been lovingly preserved for over 50 years. We are extremely honored to be included as part of Historic Site No. 4 by the City of Palm Desert. Our home features the original, kitchen (including the original pink fridge), bathrooms and unaltered floor plan. A Mid Century Modern aficionado’s dream come true. The unit was furnished with emphasis on quality, originality and recreating a comfortable Mid-Century lifestyle. Unit amenities
Included in the rental are all linens, towels, and a very well stocked kitchen. Apart from the pink refrigerator, there is a new stainless refrigerator included for additional storage needs. The unit also features a top of the line LG washer and dryer enclosed on the patio. Entertainment includes one 50" 4K Flat screen TV in the living area and two additional flat screen TVs in the bedrooms. Netflix, Amazon Prime and Wi-Fi are included. For your enjoyment, we have provided a portable Bang & Olufsen Bluetooth speaker. There are three remote controlled overhead fans to keep the air circulating and interior comfortable. This unit also includes two patios; one patio is enclosed (off the Master bedroom) and is completely private. The second patio (off the Living Room) features a breath-taking view of Sandpiper and the mountains to the west. There is also a BBQ gas grill. Both patios have lounges and a set of table and chairs. The Master Bedroom features a King size bed and the 2nd Bedroom two twin beds. Both have their own closet space. One reserved covered parking space is included with the unit.
Sandpiper Community amenities
Designed in a pinwheel configuration (to emphasize privacy and view), the community includes twenty-four, single story, individual condominiums with only one shared wall. Featuring beautiful, park like landscaping, designed by Mr. Krisel. The community salt water pool is expansive and kept at a comfortable temperature year-round. Our gorgeous, restored Ramada features all new appliances, gas barbecue, refrigerator, and sink. Ample seating, tables and lounges are available. A wonderful way to spend a relaxing day by the pool or a desert evening under the stars!
El Paseo
Considered by many in the Coachella Valley to be “The Rodeo Drive of the Desert.” El Paseo features exclusive shops (Gucci, Bottega Veneta, St. Johns, Louis Vuitton, Tiffany, and Saks). The list is endless; every upscale boutique you can think of is here. If you enjoy shopping, you will be thrilled with El Paseo! Apart from shopping, outstanding restaurants are nestled among the shops and close by. All just a few minutes’ walk from your Sandpiper unit.

This property is our second home, not just a rental property. It is unique and special; we were extremely fortunate to find a unit in this original condition. We welcome the opportunity to share its magic. We ask that you treat it as if it were your own home. Respectfulness and care go a long way! It is an original vintage unit, meaning, it has not been “remuddled” or altered in any way. If by chance, you are looking for a brand-new unit, we would respectfully suggest renting another unit. You will find Sandpiper to be a warm and welcoming community if you comply with all condominium rules and regulations. Also worth mentioning, because of Sandpiper’s exceptional central location and easy walking distance to El Paseo, there might be times of the year when there is street traffic and some street noise. We personally do not find this to be an issue, for us, a prime location and convenience are extremely important.
