La'al Cottage foi recentemente remodelado e equipado com um alto padrão wiith ilimitado de banda larga instalada. Cockermouth tem todas as comodidades de uma cidade histórica vibrante que estão a uma curta distância de La'al Cottage.
My wife and I have just returned from an idyllic week at La'al Cottage. From the first moment we saw the cottage on Homeaway and then made contact with the owner Jan we knew our week would be special, we were not disappointed.
Cockermouth itself is a gorgeous Cumbrian town, perfectly situated for days out to the whole of the Lake District. We chose to walk in the Western Lakes, far away from the crowds as well as the lovely cliff top walk from Whitehaven to St Bees and were delighted to be able to return to such a lovely property at the end of each day.
La'al Cottage is the perfect size for a couple. As its Cumbrian name suggests it is a small cottage, though with ample room for two.The cottage has a large ground floor living area with a very comfortable sofa and everything needed to relax.
The kitchen is well equipped and very clean with modern cooker and oven and nothing left to chance as far as utensils and cutlery are concerned. Upstairs are a large beamed bedroom with a large comfortable bed and plenty of storage space and a perfectly appointed bathroom. It really is a little piece of Cumbrian heaven and even though it is close to the centre of town the cottage is very quiet with just the sounds of birds singing in the trees outside to start he day and then roosting at night.
Parking was never an issue, there is space for four cars on a cobbled area very close to the cottgae, a Cumbria Council parking disc is provided should these spaces be full ( they never were). This disc allows resident parking in the street outside the cottage.
Added to all this is the fact that all the facilities that Cockermouth has to offer are within a two minute walk.A very good pub, The Bitter End Pub/Restaurant is less than a minute away, this serves excellent food and a good range of ales. The Castle Bar which we used on three occasions is just a little further away, again excellent beers and food and a very friendly welcome.
We have returned home rested and refreshed from our stay at La'al Cottage. I would return at the drop of a hat and can recommend with confidence that anyone staying there would be delighted with the experience.
This cottage was immaculate inside, in a quiet location next to the Church. It was ideally located 2 minutes from the town centre ,near local restaurant's and pubs offering excellent food. We are looking to return again.
A first class cottage
Great stay in this lovely little cottage. Spotless and well equipt. Thank you for the milk, tea and coffee.
Very clean, neat and well presented and thoughtfully supplied with everything even down to the sewing kit! The location was very convenient as it was in the town centre but parking on the cobbles was sometimes difficult. I did manage to lock myself out once without any contact details with me but the lady in the Bitter End pub was very helpful managed to find the phone number of the person holding another set of keys.
My husband and I enjoyed a really special 60th birthday in this immaculate l'al cottage. Nothing to fault it! The bed was the most comfortable we've ever slept in,the kitchen a delight to cook in, and the house was just so cosy. It was spot on for walking into Cockermouth and for driving into the wonderful Lake District.
We chose really well finding this cottage. Everything we needed was provided and it was in a good location for exploring. We enjoyed being able to walk down into Cockermouth for shops, pubs etc.
Recommend you bring your slippers to feel totally at home!!
