Location information:
Cagliari, the capital of the province and the region, is located in the heart of the magnificent Bay of Angels (Golfo degli Angeli); like Rome, it was built on seven hills, which identify the historic areas of the city. Its name Casteddu, in Sardinian means castle (Castello), is just to indicate the upper part of the city, its ancient citadel.
In Cagliari you immediately feel at ease. Perhaps because you are facing the sea, in front of one of the most beautiful panoramas you could imagine, in the heart of marvelous beaches and green heights. Because in November, he happens to go out in a t-shirt. Or because the walk in its streets allows to meet treasures loaded with a thousand-year-old history. And in addition, the magic of the pink flamingos which in summer fly over the houses, cackling. Or it's the cuisine that makes you feel at home, with its mouth-watering recipes, from bread to lobster. Or you feel the cultural ferment of a European capital where young people open their city to the world and where their parents and grandparents keep their traditions and their particular irony.
The surroundings of Cagliari are full of beautiful places. On both sides of the Gulf of Angels are some of the most beautiful beaches in Sardinia. In the Oasis of Monte Arcosu and in the Marine Protected Area of Capo Carbonara nature is protected and shows all its richness. A few kilometers from the city you can admire many Nuragic, Punic and Roman archaeological sites: the Nuragic Palace of Barumini, UNESCO World Heritage Site, the Punic and Roman city of Nora. Immediately behind Cagliari extends the Campidano and the hills of Marmille and Parteolla, where for millennia fields, vineyards and olive trees have been cultivated.
Beaches:
The city of Cagliari has a 15 km long coastline, the Poetto, the popular beach of Cagliari, which becomes a center for meetings and everyday life.
