Our family truly enjoyed our stay at Casale Villarena! We are a family of four. Our children 5 and 8 had a great time. There is a small playground on property that they enjoyed. It was covered so they could play on the rainy days. They also enjoyed the friendly cat and turtles. There is a short 20 minute walk to the beach which was very nice. Good restaurants on the beach as well. The staff at Casale were very friendly and helpful. They even arranged for a staff member, Mario, to drive us to Sorrento for shopping and dinner. Our accommodations were very nice. The views from our windows of the sea were breathtaking! My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed the Wine and Cheese tasting. It was a very nice and elegant evening. Our host and owner, Guglielmo, is very passionate about the wines and has a host of knowledge about the area. They provided very tasty breakfasts and dinners. We were very happy to take home some of the homemade jams and olive oil from their organic farms. Guglielmo, Mariateresa, Antonio, and Mario were so kind and welcoming. Of our three weeks in Italy, this was truly the most relaxing and enjoyable stays. We will definitely be back.
Perfect location at the end of the Sorrento peninsula to discover the beautiful places around: Amalfi coast, Capri, Vesuv and Pompei. We spent 10 days in two different apartments, both of them were very well equipped, furnished in the beautiful local style and have wonderful terraces with view. Our favourite is La Vetara, located on the top of the place with original, stylish antique furniture and an AMAZING view over the Le Galli islands. Guglielmo, the owner is a very friendly Italian man, who was a perfect host during our stay. He spoilt us with a delicious breakfast (my children went crazy for the handmade croissants, while we enjoyed Andrea Bocelli's voice), which was usually followed by a bath in the swimming pool and sunbathing under the lemon trees. After the relaxation we started our tour to one of the wonderful places: Positano, Ravello, Amalfi, Sorrento, Vesuv and Pompei are all relatively close. The beach is a 15 minute walk down to the seaside in Marina del Cantone, taking a bit longer backwards. The roads are quite narrow and it takes time to drive to the places, so using the local full day boat trips to Capri, Positano and Amalfi makes sense. Renting a car is advisable, but the local shop offers basic things for your stay as well. I would highly recommend the place to anyone who appreciates the relaxing South-Italian atmosphere, the view and the taste of this region. We have been using homeaway.com for many years now and this place became our favourite. Guglielmo, the owner is a person who understands your needs, offers you sevaral activities (BBQ with live music, cooking courses, boat trips) and wants you to relax and enjoy your well deserved holiday. Let him spoil you!
