CONTEXT: My wife and I decided to go to Kansas City on a somewhat last-minute, long-weekend trip to celebrate our first wedding anniversary.
THE GOOD: The location of this property was great! Super close to all the touristy areas of KC (e.g. minutes-long drive to The Plaza, Crown Center, etc). The neighborhood it is in isn't as swank as, say, The Plaza, but we felt comfortable walking around it at night. It has two window AC units which kept the place nice and cool during 95+ degree weather. Also, the price really can't be beat.
THE NOT SO GOOD: This property really needs a qualified craftsman to come through and redo it. Lots of trim, paneling, fixtures, and even the decking are either actively falling apart or seem liable to do so soon. The bathroom has an ant problem (and they DO crawl up your legs while you're in there) and does NOT have an actual door. Lastly, lots of trash was left behind from (what looked like, at least) an old bed frame that the owner told me he replaced weeks ago.
OVERALL IMPRESSION: Taking all of this into consideration, it was a good stay if you don't mind living like a college student for a few nights. I couldn't imagine staying here much longer than we did and being comfortable.
