Fantastic London Flat

We had a wonderful experience at this fun flat in the Islington neighborhood. Our children loved the twin beds in their room and we loved the charm of the apartment, which included pretty (non-working) fireplaces in the rooms and a cute but very functional kitchen. The building is historical -- very cool "Old London" looking and it overlooks a park on one side and the (surprisingly quiet) Overground train track on the other. You're very close to the train station and bus lines, plus lots of great restaurants, coffee shops and pubs. We're city people so the city noise was "normal" for us but might bother someone unused to that. We loved the top floor views, but should note that there are lots of steep steps up, which would be difficult for people with babies or injuries. Also of note: Laundry in the apartment, including a brand new clothes dryer! Very handy and nice.

Spacious flat with easy access to tube

The owners were wonderful. Kind and generous with information about the area.

The flat is very popular and has been consistently booked for many years. It mght be time now now for a minor brush up. We wouldn’t have chosen the flat for a two week stay if we had known that there was no working freezer space for frozen vegetables, or a working dryer for our washed clothes. We expect some noise when we stay in a large, vibrant city. Islington has superb public transportation with overground, as well as underground trains. Be aware, however, that the trains run late at night and the rails are very close to the flat.

We were aware of the comments made about the steep and narrow last section of stairs. We adjusted by bringing very small suitcases to make our lives easier. Having minimal clothing with us shouldn’t have been a problem as there was supposed to be a working dryer for our clothes.

Resposta do proprietário: Thank you for your review. We very much enjoyed meeting you both and especially running into you in our local Italian restaurant! Apologies for the non-working freezer. This is due to be replaced very shortly. This property has never had a tumble dryer and to the best of our knowledge has never been advertised as having one. The last flight of stairs are smaller and narrower than the rest - a consequence of this being a converted Georgian building, originally built in 1774! The overground / underground station is approximately one minute from the flat which of course means that the tracks are also close to the house. The vast majority of the trains however, are electric and quiet which generally guests get used to very quickly. Again great to see you during your stay and hear about your time in London.

Loved it. Great for families.

We are a family of six, with four young boys. Absolutely loved 2 Highbury. With the park and metro station within 100 meters it was super convenient. The restaurants and grocery storre are also just around the corner, less than 5 mins walk. Sally and Nigel were so pleasant and accommodating. Great experience. Thank you.

Great location, convenient food and gluten free options

This flat is almost within sight of the Highbury-Islington station. The Victoria line is fast and goes to a lot of good locations. We really liked how convenient it was to get into and around town. If you're from outside the UK, look into getting a Visitor Oyster card before you arrive.

There are two small markets within sight of the station (Tesco & Waitrose) and another very close by (Sainsbury), so food shopping is super easy. You can shop one day at a time without having to carry food super far. There are definitely a lot of steps, so this is probably a good thing.

If you need gluten free options, this is a great part of London. There are multiple gluten free bakeries (Beyond Bread and Artisan Gluten Free) a short walk down the street and a nice restaurant (Niche) not too far away in Angel. The Tesco had lots of GF options and they are good about explicit labeling. They had refrigerated GF Pizza Express personal pizza in stock for part of our stay. There's also a Pizza Express in Angel.

Finally, the hosts are incredibly gracious. They were very helpful and super nice.

Great highbury flat

This is our second time staying at the Highbury flat. We love this flat. It is ideally located , very near the tube and shops and restaurants. Nigel is a very attentive host and is very helpful. We hope to return again.

Ideale Familien Unterkunft

Ideale Unterkunft für Familien mit bis zu vier Personen.

Die Lage ist Super , nur ca 200m von der U-Bahn Station Highbury Islington entfernt.

(Als Tip: mit der Visitor Oyster Card zahlt man nur 6,5£ als max Betrag pro Tag und Kinder bis 11 Jahre fahren umsonst mit)

Bei Anreise mit dem Eigenen Auto können Nigel und Sally (die Eigentümer) Voucher bereistellen (pro Tag 14,25 £)

Die Wohnung und die Einrichtung ist zwar schon etwas älter aber in sehr gutem zustand und sehr Sauber.

Sally und Nigel sind sehr freundlich,hilfsbereit und bemüht einen in jeder Hinsicht zu unterstützen.

Dee einzige "Nachteil" der Wohnung ist: das sie im 3. Stock liegt und die letzten Stufen sehr steil sind, deshalb halte ich die Wohnung für Leute die nicht gut zu Fuss sind nur für bedingt geiegnet.

Wir würden die Wohnung jederzeit wieder mieten und auch unseren Freunden und Verwandten die Wohnung empfehlen
