It was a beautiful home but I wish the owners would have painted a better picture of what we would expect. There is a HUGE, old, what we assume, school building directly in front of the house that blocks most of the view out of those big windows of the hills in the distance. We were all quite surprised when we pulled in and saw it.

Since we were traveling with 15 people we assumed there would be amenities there such as Toilet Paper, Paper Towels, Dish washing soap, Laundry detergent...etc. There was enough to last us almost a day. We were staying for 5! We had to email the guy and he eventually made it out to the property to drop off more supplies. Amongst other things, we were surprised there were absolutely NO ceiling fans in the entire place and the air conditioning was definitely not functioning like it was supposed to, luckily it was a cooler week and leaving the windows open sufficed just as well.

My mom lives in a log home and it is decorated beautifully, you could tell this home was manufactured as purely a money maker because it is not cozy at all! We went four-wheeling most of the time but when us girls didn't feel like going out with the boys, we stayed back at the cabin...there was no t.v. I called the lady and she said she would have someone come out and fix it, no one ever came out to fix our t.v. Also, they said in the description that there was a fitness room, there was absolutely no fitness room and hardly a 'game room' was a room with absolutely nothing but a foosball table.

We also wanted an outside hose to hose off our quads because the trails were so sandy and our radiators were getting plugged up with sand and couldn't breath. And damn it, pick your weeds out front!! So many weeds and it was a huge pet peeve of ours!

Our overall experience was that it was a beautiful home and in a pretty good location, we just wanted what we paid so much money for...the simple things.

Resposta do proprietário: It is a shame when people are not truthful in their reviews. To resolve all these issues through Homeaway would take an unruly amount of energy and time. So I will address each one of these. Yes there is another building on the property, it is located in the driveway. It is a 100+ year old schoolhouse and yes it does block some of the view from the log home just like the trees, and leaves, etc.. Most people enjoy the many views that are available from the log home and don't focus on the small things. Others would be thankful they can see a part of history. For the next issue I would like to state that our home sleeps 12 NOT 15. Enough said on that issue. The amenities that weren't supplied immediately were the result of a new cleaning crew misunderstanding. This has been resolved. When advised of the problem it was resolved within 2 hours. The TV issue turned out to be one cable box that was not hooked up and the renter advised us that he was technically savvy and would resolve this on his own. The satellite company was also called. As far as decorations it has many, but realistically not as many as one would have in their own home without fear of theft or damage. There are no hoses as the house has a sprinkler system. I will check with the professional lawn service as to the weed issue, but I have never been disappointed by their work ethic or performance. It is a disappointment that some can discredit a place by lengthy paragraphs and then finish their review with "beautiful home" and "pretty good location". Wonderful place. Spent a couple of nights with some friends on my wife's 40th and this place was awesome. Very well taken care of, all the appliances and utensils that you could need, heated tile floors in bathrooms and kitchen.(a surprising perk) Very roomy. We even saw eight...EIGHT bald eagles dancing in the 30mph wind and lake effect snow out of the huge front windows. Very close to a couple of ski places, though we did not take advantage of it. Our friends are considering a longer stay with kids sometime in the future. Harbor Springs is a beautiful downtown about 15 minutes away.

It's been awhile since I've had the pleasure of being with all of my Family at the same time under one roof. We sat on the deck and laughed about old times as we watched the most beautiful sunset. Barb was the best ever to deal with and made our experiance that much better. With out a doubt, you will never regret your stay at this most beautiful property. We have enough memories to last a life time. Thanks again Barb.

This rental property was exactly what we were looking for plus more. The description was very accurate. The property was very clean and well maintained. We were even plowed out after a snow storm. The owner was always quick to respond to questions before our stay and even called while we were there to make sure everything was to our liking. This is a beautiful log home with everything you could ever ask for at your fingertips. There was even a Christmas tree set up as we stayed between the holidays. The home is warm and quiet. Our family of 12 enjoyed every minutes that we were there. We will absolutely consider staying there again.
